Yes, it's no big deal.

I know what you mean but why do you find it embarrassing?

Heh I was in thirtysomethings. I guess they probably are for people who still have AOL. Like MSN and messenger though it's all a bit outmoded isn't it.

On Friday whilst I was in Hull, I went here: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?...=m&z=16&vpsrc= and was talking to one of the shop assistants and told them about how I like posting things on forums, and showed them this thread: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1618968 which ironically, I happened to be looking at the display of Panasonic TVs showing a Freeview HD sourced BBC HD demo and the store is located next to a pub called "Propaganda"! The shop assistant told me that they hate user forums, because usually, (especially with big forums such as the Digital Spy forums), the threads and replies to threads are too often posted by drunk chavs!

They also told me that they haven't posted things on any user forums of any kind since about 2001.

I don't go around advertising that I post on forums but I have mentioned that I do when it comes up in conversation. It's not really seen as an odd thing to do any more and seeing as DS has 450,097 members even acknowledging that some of these accounts are the same person chances are there will be someone who has a DS account amongst the people you know in real life. Not sure if that's scary or not though
