There was no sulking or backchat or hystrionics.

I must commend them on how gracious and sporting and mature they all were.

More of this type of behaviour please!

Yes Dear Sid, I approve of this behaviour too as well as the general positive tone of the whole show with no attempt to humiliate the contestants.

Rah! Rah! Up with this kind of stuff!

I had all but given up on these "reality" shows but I'm finding this quite refreshing.

Hello you!

I'm also enjoying the vibe of the show. I just hope it continues in this spirit and the panel keep the banter light and jokey when the live shows start. Tom Jones's presence helps. You can tell the others have a great deal of respect for him - they see him as a sort of father figure - so I don't think they'll start properly squabbling in front of him.

Agreed - also liked the judges' feedback, and hope some of the people that didn't get through succeed anyway.

Yes , Sid , it was lovely to see the manners and the respect at the auditions . A far cry from the rival show .

I do agree with the sentiment here but there are I'm afraid some elements that seem de rigueur in reality shows: sob stories, edited TV for dramatic purpose and an inability to truly make it just about talent. They are making judgements on what they think the contestants look like and making decisions on this and they are not leaving their comfort zone in their choices because like another staple of these shows the mentors over riding desire to win.

Yes, they showed a lot of dignity. I was wondering, is there anything to stop the judges signing up or mentoring the acts they regret not picking or who don't make it - once the show has finished?

There was one guy, forgot his name but he sang some rock song, who got backstage after not getting through and seemed pretty annoyed.

True and I've seen others whose body language makes them look p*ssed off and I've seen the judges look somewhat underwhelmed when they turn round and see the act isn't quite how they visualized. However, there is no histrionics or dramatics on either side. All very polite really.
