Maybe he should have kicked Neil Lennon in the head. Mind you, he'd have had to queue up these days.

Is this the same Shearer that kicked Neil Lennon in the head and then blackmailed the FA over his selection? Yeah he is certainly someone to be dishing advice out!

Perhaps we could get Pierre Van Hoidonk's opinion on players going on strike, at least he would be able to speak as a sort of voice with expierence of that sort of thing!

I find it all very cringeworthy. The guy goes off on a five month golfing holiday and then is welcomed back by a significant number of Manchester City fans.

In a few weeks it'll be 'I hate Manchester' all over again. He's a toxic slut of a player. No manager in Europe would touch him with a 50ft stick. Horrible, horrible person.

Apprentley Alan shearer , made some comments on 5live tonight about Tevez Goal celebrations, in which he is alledged to have said , players should have just let him celebrate on his own, and asked him where were you when we Really needed you ??

be intrested to know the full content of what he Shearer said
totally agree with Shearer though

The club have said his comments were out of order and demand an apology , Shearer was unavaiable for comment
MOTD could be intresting
Man City have to band together for the final few games. Petty divisions among players on the pitch won't help them.

I'd suggest you omit it from your wedding vows.

Agreed. Does Shearer really expect that to happen? Man Utd would be laughing their socks off at the lack of togetherness. Of course the players should celebrate with him.

He may be a bit of a %$* but you can't doubt his footballing ability and what he brings to a team when he is on the pitch.

Can open - worms everywhere!

I HATE Tommy Docherty more than any other person in football. The man is a liar and a disgrace to Manchester United and our great history.

Aside from George Best and the obvious stuff associated with him he has been nothing more than a rent-a-quote any time we as a club have had any sort of controversial issue. I remember him on numerous occasions on Sky offering advice to SAF which is a bit like Arkwright in Open All Hours telling Tesco where they are going wrong.

I love reading the books of many footballers and people involved in the game but id rather go blind than touch anything from that man.*

*Sorry! No offence meant, its just something i feel strongly about as you may have noticed!!!
Wow!!!

Really? - you hate TD more than anyone else?

And you wouldn't read anything by him? - is this cos you don't want to contribute to his royalties or just cos you hate him so much you do not want to know what he thinks?

Personally (and sorry for prob offending you here!!) if asked to finish the sentence 'My most hated person in football is ......., I'd say Alex Ferguson (remember we once fell out over him big style ) but that does not mean I will not read anything about him. I have not read his autobiography (Managing my life isn't it?) but have read the Crick book and another by Holt about him and Shanks comparing the two.

I think it is good to educate myself about these matters - and tbf especially the Crick book informed me of some good things about him that I did not know as well as bad things too..

How do you form your views of TD? Are you sure they are fair? Mind you i guess stuff in his autobiography may not be regarded as exactly unbiased either!!

I was just a bit taken aback with you outburst re TD - for me he is not a figure I have strong views about - maybe I should do!! - not sure if this is a fair question but is your view of him one a lot of MUFC fans would have?

Saying Fergie is the most 'hated man in football' is so bereft of objectivity it should embarrass anyone saying it, to be honest.

I will stand alone with this opinion Alan. I think the man is a disgrace.I accept it may be irrational but there you are.

I don't use the C word in polite conversation but i will happily make an exception for him.

I remember him in any media source that would pay him when Cantona attacked the fan. I remember him when we sold Ince, Hughes and Kanchelskis. He was there ready to put the boot in to SAF left right and centre. It would be ok if he had passed the Arse/elbow differential test while managing us but he didn't.

Im not going to go any further, i could fill pages on him. He is a charlatan of the highest order and id happily pull the pages out of the "Official History of MUFC" that he hand any part of.

And breathe......

Fair enough!!

I guess I just assume any former MUFC personnel would not be your most hated figures - more likely to be Suarez or Dalglish but I guess when you see him ripping into the club after he has left it prob does not impress true MU fans.

What is Ferguson's attitude to him? - have they ever had a public slanging match or does he just ignore him? Has TD ever tried to take back anti comments he has made?

I don't suppose we have any equivalent figure - a former LFC manager or player constantly having a go at the club -if we did I am sure I'd be pretty unimpressed so I suppose looking at it like that I can maybe understand your feelings.

Bomo? - so i am not entitled to dislike Ferguson. won't go into a long post about it but I think you will find I am not the only one who feels that way. It happens, I dislike Ferguson, you dislike Dalglish - it goes with the territory, I'd be surprised if it was any different. I forgive you!!

I really haven't looked that deeply into what others think, maybe SAF likes him tbh, i have no idea. He doesn't seem to comment in public.

My hatred of KD is not even a hatred, its just fun. I KNOW KD is a good man. He should be knighted. I live in an area where he has done great things for charity with his wife. His actions re Hillsborough mean a knighthood should have been automatic. I don't rate him as manager but thats not really on the same level. Its all good fun.

TD on the other hand........he is a repugnant human being who should never be allowed an opinion on a club he was damn lucky to manage IMO.

I disagree with Shearer's comment, but I don't know why the club want an apology. It isn't going to change his view even if he apologises so what is the point?

Saw Tevez on Soccer Sturday grabbing the champagne fror mom and not answering any questions., His english seemed fine when he asked " is that my champagne for being man of the match". Took the bottle from Kompany and left

I thought Tevez'z celebration was disgusting. He has probably cost his team the title and that celebration was pure gloating and showed absolutely no remorse for his pathetic actions.
He epitomizes everything that is wrong with football today.

Tommy docherty book
Am not a Man utd fan so i obviously dont know the in outs, but i am old enough to remember when he won the cup in 77, (the only trophy they won in 70s btw) and that was against all the odds by beating amn all conquering Liverpool, team who had won League and won the european cup few days later , and yet after all that was sacked for running off with the wife of physio , which is hardly a sackable offence really
turns out that Matt busby didnt ike it and he was alledged to have upset the Catholic community which busby was one, thing is , (and lets give credit to docherty here) he did wait till after Sir matt had died to say this in print anyway Busby had affairs when the Team played in London , this is his side although they may be other side, too, also the Louis Edwards scandal is also in it,

Back ijn the 90s he did an affter dinner speak at Leeds, in which i went to had everybody in stiches , and at the end of the night got a standing ovation, which not many managers would get at Er

If you are intresting in reading about Football in 60s/70s then its an excellent read, but understand if some might not like it ,

Last year there was a book called Clough/Revie which i really enjoyed but some Leeds fans did not , so i guess its what you want to read and what you dont, .

AC
i have read the Crick book & managing to succeed, and Fergies other book, all very good reads
