Agree. In a funny way maybe Tom's scarf was the start of it. Gave JNT the notion that instead of simply keeping to a style of clothing, that the Doctor must have a uniquely "Doctor only" gimmicky thing. Pity because I love the scarf and it just felt "natural" with Tom - normal that he might have a daft scarf. And a fetching hat (of a type I regularly see in certain towns and city areas). The eighties ones were just so self consciously specially made.

The revived show gets it about right again.

And, back on topic, good to see a scene of the Doctor voluntarily taking a shower to put us at our ease as to his personal hygiene. Unless that was just as part of his cover story.

Dirctly on topic: The Tribe of Gum looked like even worse soap dodgers than the purple trousered juggling busker who often performs in our high street. Which is saying something.

Like the Blake's 7 costumes. The funniest part of the show, those costumes.

Bact to topic: I imagine that the genetically-altered Dalek creatures had any need for hygiene genetically removes quite early on.

And do Sontarans have a sense of smell anyway?

I am sure, however, that the Delgado Master was meticulous in his personal grooming.

Definitely. That was one fierce beard!
So, so frickin' cool.

If it were genetically possible for me to grow a beard; that's the look I would go for.

Totally agree.

Turlough is wearing a wedding ring in at least one story and, as evidence of his hatred of the school, doesn't acknowledge his maths teacher when they meet in The Five Doctors.

Smelliest DW character? Gavrok. No doubt about it. I put a cushion over my nose from the outset.

There are alternatives to genetic modification...

I'm sure you don't absolutely have to be a French Woman in order to try this out.
