Its the first internet radio I've had,but it's an amazing bit of kit,i would recomend it to anybody
got the 83i as well, happy with it apart from podcast listening as you cant fast forward/rewind and the display cant always display the entire podcast name. Apart from those slight niggles its really great.

The best internet radio I have come across is this one from Kogan:
http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/kogan-w...docking-delux/
You can sometimes get it from eBay for about 100.

Good points:
Excellent reception compared with other radios.
Supports DAB+ and AAC+ internet streams.
Great sound with its stereo speakers, tweeter and subwoofer.
Nice, bright display.
Fast loading.. excellent for channel surfing.
Has a remote control with *one-press* presets for all radio modes (10 each).
They used to sell in their Kogan UK shop for around 120. Ridiculously good value for money.

John Lewis also seem to have a rebadged version for 150:

I don't know if all the features are the same, though.

As for the OXX, I've read elsewhere it doesn't even handle the common m3u playlist files

As far as I can see the spec on the site you link to doesn't mention AAC+. Have you tested it with AAC+ streams or AAC music files?

Yes, I use it to listen to AAC+ stations on internet radio.
This includes the Bauer and Global streams as well as Sky.FM.

You can turn that down/off. It's in the settings somewhere. Without looking I can't remember exactly how to do it, but you definitely can,
