Well interesting snippet in the Mirror as I much my toast on a Sunday morning.

No other source yet but it rattles on about a three week promotional tour masterminded by L A Reid, big revamp of WUB (we've had hints in some pictures a while back), and mentioning a Snoop Dogg version to come (he is actually mentioned in an apparent promotional poster from Epic too). The Mirror also hinting at a Letterman performance () and talks about "supporting a major star" .

Now before we all hyperventilate my owlish perspective says:-

1) Only the Mirror nobody else yet.
2) It reads like a promo piece dictated by Epic.
3) She ain't sold diddly squat there yet.
4) Still if half true going to be an exciting few weeks, and having read up a bit on LA Reid he is pretty A list at this sort of thing, so I suspect and hope we are about to have the Americans show us how a launch should be done. Bless 'em

Yup it's all go over next few weeks now. New video version next week (couple of clips out there now of the new one look very different!) followed by release to radio, NY club performance under auspices of LA Reid and US release a couple of weeks later. To borrow and Alex Fergusonism - squeaky bum time.

Well, what do we think of the new vid?

Looks great to me, bit less nicely quirky in storyline than the old one but much more what she should be image wise,(less childish) and it's better for removing Astro I feel.

It seems from all we've now seen as if they've moved her up about 5 years in terms of target demographics, given SXSW, tour, and now this video. Good.

Wonder what any new music's going to sound like?

i think the new vid is exactly what was needed in the first place its still Cher but its a lot more interesting to watch and not have to skip astro haha!

LA really knows what he's doing with her and he knows which direction she needs to go..thank god somebody with an idea is involved!

As for new music, i'm sure she's mentioned about swearing on new tracks so i'm thinking a rihanna/britney sound? but even then i still want another SJ because that is my jaaaaam

It was impossible for it to do better, brats already had it, people didn't wanna buy it because of astro and it was only digital downloads, no physical copies..so sadly, Syco set her up to fail with that one. New material soooooon!!

yep much better without Astro who just didn't make sense on it. Things looking much better with the US launch, got the demographic right and no other balls ups a la Syco

Very impressed with the new video, I hope this becomes a smash in the US. A positive step also is Cher going solo, Epic seem to have the confidence in her to do this, unlike Syco it seems..
A bonus for our point of view is having got to see both videos which are both a fine piece of production (except Astro) and Cher's Shh bit is quite delicious in vid 1 with the attempted headbutt..
I see in the press Cheryl reportedly has brought up Cher's ill thought remarks to the fore, rather pathetic if its true,its not as though Cher clobbered her in the ladies now is it..

Seriously though, Cheryl needs to let it all go now, Cher has said sorry so i don't see what the problem is. Cheryl will know as much as we do that Cher speaks before she thinks..which i find adorable but it does get her in some sticky situations! Nothing the brats can't sort out though!
