As has been said, it may be on by default, but you can ring them to turn it off. The filters are way overboard - Vodafone's even blocked MSN!

Shows the problems with internet filtering. Either it only blocks sites with known problems and lets some porn through, or it blocks anything with the slightest hint of risk, keywords, pictures or videos.

It is indeed a mobile ISP thing - whilst I understand why they do this to PAYG customers (anyone can buy these) there is no reason to filter content for contract customers, given that you need to be over 18 to sign up.

Not to mention the filter software sucks, and often places restrictions on non "adult" sites, for no apparent reason.

Even if you do jump through hoops to arrange unfettered access, after a short time the content control feature suddenly is enabled again!
