Is porn restricted? If you use a dongle?
.

I would have said no but post #4 by Jittlov makes sense and I can see the reasons why, it becomes like a payg phone.

Answer 2 : Sorry nothing to do with Pron but why do Vodaphone block Skype for my brother in Ireland , maybe they do it elsewhere ? ........ he gets by fine by using Google video.

why would it be in the technology ?
The OP asked if porn is restricted if you use a dongle. It sounds like nothing to do with the dongle and everything to do with the ISP's policy. Mayby it's a mobile phone industry thing but if so it's got to be some kind of voluntary code that could change tomorrow. Does that answer your question?

Because Skype undermines the revenue basis of phone companies?

indeed its a ISP or mobile provider thing, nothing to do with using a dongle.

As has been said, it may be on by default, but you can ring them to turn it off. The filters are way overboard - Vodafone's even blocked MSN!
Only when it involves bondage.
As I said, you can ring them to get it turned off, but the menus are so awful that you often end up tied in knots

Shows the problems with internet filtering. Either it only blocks sites with known problems and lets some porn through, or it blocks anything with the slightest hint of risk, keywords, pictures or videos.

It is indeed a mobile ISP thing - whilst I understand why they do this to PAYG customers (anyone can buy these) there is no reason to filter content for contract customers, given that you need to be over 18 to sign up.

Not to mention the filter software sucks, and often places restrictions on non "adult" sites, for no apparent reason.

Even if you do jump through hoops to arrange unfettered access, after a short time the content control feature suddenly is enabled again!
