Well I don't wish it. I said "almost hope", but that is besides the point. It would at least stop so many movie threads mentioning The Dark Knight Rises or it's predecessors. We were talking about Spider-man and then the last two pages have been for the most part have been Dark Knight blah blah blah.
I know there are fans of Chris Nolan and the Batman franchise and I appreciate it, but the hype and chatter sometimes is overwhelming. I will watch the film when it comes out and give it the props it deserves, but if it is bad (which I do doubt it will be) but if it doesn't end up breaking the banks with its box office receipts it might quieten the obsession a little. Which might be nice. |

And then you have the loyal and extremely dedicated Joss Whedon fans, who will be watching this just because of his name association. So I think this film already has a few fanbases to delve into and then you have the normal punters who enjoy a good action packed summer blockbuster. I don't think it will be doing terribly at the box office. Although if I would have to hazard a guess it would be breaking all box office records set in front of it. |

I'm not saying that this will happen to The Avengers, far from it, it will almost definitely be a success, but i wouldn't count on Whedon fans to bring in the cash. Quote:

The only reason this film is being made is because Columbia do not want to lose the Spiderman license. Apparently if the film studio doesn't produce a new film every x number of years the film rights go back to Marvel Studios.
Shame really. It would've been cool to have Spiderman teaming up with the Avengers. |

Rather liked that. A big improvement on previous trailers.
The cast seemed to be doing good work and visually looked way superior to Raimi's tacky efforts. |

Thats looks okay so it does, With each trailer my interest is growing. I think this could be an all right flick. It'll get crushed by TDKR and Avengers but in itself, and compared to the previous spiderman films, it could be all right. I hated Tobey and Kirsten so I don't think the cast will peeve me off in this one, and I'm all for darker stories so bring it on !

![]() I've still got mixed emotions on this.... On one hand .. Good: 1) Sarky one-liners from Spidey, About time... 2) The swinging and webbing sequences look "amazing" (do you see what I did there?). 3) The costume and web-shooters work. 4) Emma Stone! On the other .. Bad: 1) I know it's been done to death, but it still feels too early for another origin story. 2) What's with the unmasking scenes? 3) Not convinced by the Reptile so far, but it looks like there will be more than one (Biological attack?). 4) Peter Parker. Skateboard Emo? Really? And another thing .. Ugly: Unless the film is 5 hours long, we MUST have seen all the action sequences in the trailers by now. I mean really guys. How many different 2 minute trailers have we seen now? We get the picture. Quit it! Having said that, I will be in the queue on opening day, but I think I'll be leaving a little disappointed. I hope I'm proved wrong... |

Hate the idea of this movie still, the closer it gets the more I know it will suck.

^ I think the whole Leger thing is a moot point by now. TDKR is a Nolan film as much as anything else. And since TDK we've had Inception, which some viewed as being something of a vanity project, the sort, as history has it, that directors are allowed after a huge studio hit. They often underwhelm. This one drew in $826m.

That is longer than I expected the film to be!
Strangely I normally have had days off work to go to see big comic book films like Thor,Captain America and The Avengers as soon as they come out in the past. However I'm really not that excited about Spiderman so I will properly see it but a few days after it is released!
