And how perfect in the hand it is too.

I find them all very much the same, iPhone included.
The difference is 90%+ in the screen and size though litigation kept telling us they are identical.

I often use a very small dumb phone for its one month battery life and even here I've never controlled it one handed.

I really liked the feel of my iPhone 3G, It felt solid and comfortable. I can't say the same about the iPhone 4, it looks great but to many edges for my liking.

The Galaxy S, I didn't like the feel of, it felt very flimsy. I felt they overcame alot of that with the S2, although not the best quality phone I have used it was a massive improvement.

With reviewers saying the S3 feels more like the S than the S2 combined with the overall look of it I'm not impressed.

Samsung may have been top last year with the SGS2 but the previous year the HTC Desire seemed to be the fan favorite for Android users (I had one myself). It wouldn't surprise me if HTC bounce back some this year with the One X.

Yet evidence always seems to have it that the iPhone is the flimsiest smartphone ever produced.

The iPhone is a bit of a lead weight so I'd say 'less solid' is more appropriate.

I refer to solid as in a nice solid feel in your hand not its durability. As in it being comfortable to hold with no flexing or creaking like Samsung Galaxy S and S2 phones seem to do.

Pretty much every smart phone in the market can break when dropped, I have friends who have broke the screen of various phones including an S2 by dropping it from normal height. It's the price you pay for having such a large screen.

The disadvantage Apple has with the iPhone 4 is having a glass back as well as the front which was daft but at least they replaced mine free of charge in the store (as well as 3 bumpers now). I doubt Apple will make that mistake again, I can't see them choosing standard glass again for the backing.

If you try out an HTC One X you will understand what i mean by "Solid".

That's the best way, test all the phones in the store and get the one that suits you.

Nothing worse than getting a phone only to realise you hate it (Yes I mean you Nokia N95 grr).

I wouldn't worry, as it was over the phone you are covered by the Distance Selling Regulations. Which means if you get it and don't like it you have 2 weeks to send it back (the DSR states a reasonable time but more people take this to mean 10 working days).

You are entitled to 7 days though am sure phones4u give 14 days to return a phone.
However the calls contract is with the network so am sure you would have to plead with them separately.

The S3 is likely to be the best available but it certainly does not mean one needs it.

what people tell you cannot override the law. You buy something over the phone, you have the right to change your mind.

I'd certainly check with your network.

Many are wary of sharp practices so are very obliging at times.
They certainly hold the whip hand over any agent.

A decent all round fact based review at the Mail. The reviewer preferred the IPS screen of the new Xperia S though admit that the decent size list of Samsung's innovations win it.

Apparently I couldn't cancel it because phones for you don't do a cooling off period, I can't do the rubbish network excuse as it is a upgrade and I have a sure signal....

If they don't, report them, they are bound by (as others have said) the distant selling regulations, which gives you up to 30 days to say 'no'

He is prob saying it, as he will loose his comission on the sale !

Don't make your decisions based around discussions on here...There are far too many partisan opinions to make it an oracle of taste.
I'm sure you won't regret getting the S3 any more than you would have regretted ordering any other phone first.
However, I agree with others that you can cancel the order or change it.

DSR is 7 working days from delivery to notify them you want to reject the item not 30 days.

I'm due an upgrade and will probably be getting the S3, I don't see much point in pre ordering though through an upgrade may as well just wait until the phone is available in store to have a look at then order online.

I hate to tell you but not liking a Samsung phone doesn't make you a fanboy, I infact think the HTC One X and and Lumia 900 are nice looking phones.
Got any links?
