Of course they are going to say Saturdays show, they'd look pretty stupid if they said tonight when the public actually saw it on Saturday night
Exactly! I don't get why people really still going on about this?! It's known now that it's pre-recorded and it's something the BBC have done with other reality programmes without the moans last week's show generated.

Max, hot, young, male, totty.

He was none of those, well he was male I suppose.

Far too young, not very hot, and certainly not totty imo.
I just think he is instantly forgettable.
Max who?

The Radio Times does say this: After a nerve-racking 24 hours, the singers discover who hasn't made the grade
Proof of the BBC's trickery!

Maybe I'm growing out of these types of shows, or maybe it was a duff one but, I found tonight's show pretty dull. I wanted to like it though, wanted the show to just keep getting better and better. Now I'm hoping for the XFactor to start, and both entertain me, and blow me away with talent.

18.10 next week that's early
It's to avoid the BGT final, which is 19.30-22.00. A slight clash of 15 mins due to the ridiculously bloated runtime of BGT.

There was a flurry of activity last week when the schedules for that night were being finalised. Originally BGT was down for 18.30 with TVUK at 18.10 (which was obviously bonkers), and then ITV1 moved BGT to 19.30, which is pretty much where they would have wanted it in the first place.

Really too early for TVUK; it will take another ratings hit. However once BGT is out of the way TVUK should have a pretty clear run for its final three weeks (apart perhaps from the Champions League final in two Saturdays' time which could dent the later part of TVUK).

The Radio Times just made a mistake. It's not owned by the BBC any more, so I see no conspiracy there.

Max ticks all four boxes as far as I'm concerned! Although Aleks gets an extra credit as I think he has a nicer personality.

12/05/12: Earlier start plus 15 minute clash with Britain's Got Talent final
19/05/12: Champions League Final
26/05/12: Earlier start due to Eurovision plus Roy Hodgson's first match in charge of England against Norway on ITV1 (albeit kick off not until 7.45pm)

Ah thanks - has it now been confirmed that TVUK is on the Saturday just before Eurovision, rather than on the Friday as some were suggesting? Being the semi-final, that would be 8 acts right? So they might be able to squeeze that into an hour from 19.00 before Eurovision, or maybe 18.45, so not so very early. But then there's the bloody lottery to fit in!

I suppose that England friendly is going to be more of a draw than usual due to it being Roy's first match, but as you say the kick-off time could be worse.

The first two live shows contained eight acts and they've required 90 minutes to fit it all in. If I was the BBC I'd axe the lottery round up before Eurovision and give a quick round up after it instead, which would allow The Voice to run until 8pm - otherwise it'd have to start at 6.20pm. It seems to be accepted that the show will run on the Saturday night as normal now though I haven't seen any confirmation of this from the BBC themselves.

Cool, thanks for that. I agree about the lottery. Stick that on after 11pm by all means!

But haven't the first two live shows had 10 acts? (20 acts into the lives, 5 per coach, 2 coaches' acts performing per week) And they managed to get that into a 90-minute slot.

I think it'll do fine on eurovision night, the two will go hand in hand with each other as a night of music for the BBC
its next week I worry about with it starting so early, and champions league final week will be tough. Once it rides all of that out I reckon the semis will do ok and then the final will rate really well. Because the british public do love finals and it shouldn't have much competition apart from another england friendly but I believe that will be over by about 7 and I'd hope it would start around half 7 anyway
