Britney Spears - X factor ...

Hey guys long time lurker here, sorry if theres already a post..So britney is the new joudge. YAY

i am a fan but it doesnt mean im a crazy fan lol but basically here are my thoughts on the critisism..

I think she is perfect for the role, shes had a long career, sold millions, been through hell and back so i think that she deserves it for what it is. I DO NOT understand why people are throwing their toys out of the pram because of the amount she was paid. Firstly, good on her. If i was in a position to milk simon cowell, there is no question about it that i would. Its not greedy, think about it, he has millions millions..go on girl.

secondly the singning issue..

yes she mimes, who cares?? when you go to a britney show, you know what to expect.she has done it for most of her career. Yes a live show should be presumably live but when buying a britney ticket i know what im getting, and it doesnt bother me in the slightest because ultimately i came to see britney in the flesh. And its hard to escape the fact that everyone knows she mimes so imo the people that go and then moan about it most of the time do it cos they can and to bring fans down..

Fact is its good to have someone on the panel that can sing and we all know she can. Or could, or whatever. Britney had a very very powerfull voice just youtube it...

only thing im worried about is it being scripted to obvioustly. Its quite sad to watch old interviews as its clear to see she is not the same person.

What do you guys think

X-factor really do need her the media is going to set this up as Britney VS Christina yet again, the critics will be out for her with fashion and miming, but Britney will bring in huge ratings .

Hell is about to freeze over, I agree with you The second I seen Britney confirmed I just thought that this is Simon's way of trying to get X Factor to go up against The Voice in America. No doubt "sources" will let the press know that Simon's other show in the UK destroyed Voice ratings and he was now here to do the same.

You could argue that someone who only mimes is not suited as a judge of a singing competition.

I would watch if Britney was on it. I think Cowell's money has been well spent.

miming has been done for years and years. Britney has/had an amazing voice, just look it up. Her danmce routines made it impossible to sing way back in the slave days. Yes her dancing still isnt up to scratch yet but when i went to the femme fetale tour and im not saying this just because im a fan..but majority of it was sang live, wich even suprised me but its a talent competition, wich doesnt just involve singing. J lo cant sing.. but shes an amazing judge and coach IMO

UrMyStar you agree with most posts, you just won't admit it. Britney's been dealing with the media all her life, so I think she'll be able to handle it. Hopefully a fun-loving witty side of her will come out so Britney doesn't sound so media trained. Whether it's scripted or not.

I haven't seen her sing live for years. Her recent material is awful..it's throw away meaningless music that she hasn't even written herself. "Womanizer Womanizer you're a Womanizer Womanizer Womanizer"

Maybe she'll prove me wrong, and write a beautiful album about her life experiences and give a fantastic touching performance that people listening to will relate to.. but I doubt it. To be fair to her, she had a song about 8/9 years ago which she wrote herself and that I thought was good.. it's name escapes me I may have to go and research it to remind myself.. but it was about a relationship that had ended and she was struggling afterwards. She is capable of doing decent enough music, it's a shame she chooses not to.

I'm not really too bothered about Britney (and Demi) being the new judge as long as she can string a decent critique together. Looking at previous seasons of XF (Nicole & Paula), Idol (Randy, Ellen & Kara) and now the Voice UK (Will.I.Am) it's obviously not as easy as it seems

Scherzinger judged well she was just overwhelmed. Maybe Britney will find it easier, she has way more support.

Alot of people i.e celebs slagging her off like seriously Britney is a Huge Worldwide superstar and STILL selling records its not like shes doing the show cause she needs a career boost like J-lo on AI etc.

the whole 'oh she mimes how can she judge other peoples singing' is so boring now. She has the X-factor, she will bring in HUGE media coverage for that show cause like it or not people love her or hate her are still fascinated by Britney.

this is a woman who went through hell and back for the whole world to see STILL manage to have a chart breaking album with Blackout, then comeback with ANOTHER 2 No.1 albums.

Britney is perfect and i cant wait to see her on TV every week as she will be the only reason i tune in.

That was certainly the case for one particular judge on the UK version but strangely it is a non issue now

If Mrs Federline is such a good singer then why has she never sung the national anthem at an event in the US ? It is almost certain that anyone who gets passed the audition stage will do it but not the so called expert judge

To be fair to Cheryl she did sing live on all of her own X Factor performances, including the two as part of Girls Aloud.

No it's the Nadine who's the most talented and beautiful member of Girls aloud, who's working her bum off using her real voice to produce hit after hit for her band.

People who are critiquing Britney's vocal skills have obviously mistaken The X Factor for The Voice. The X Factor does not require pitch perfect, sky scraping vocal runs, it requires a spark, a drive, and an image - Something special. For years, in the great Britney Vs. Christina war, Christina has been deemed as having "The Voice" and Britney was deemed as having "The X Factor", she has that something special, as she is incredibly likeable, and has the performance gene. She has forged a 13/14 year iconic career despite it being common knowledge that she doesn't sing live... the people who care so much that she mimes are NOT fans, plain and simple, they should worry about their own favourite artists. Britney Spears did not make it this far as a puppet, she wrote, choreographed, visualised, and gave blood, sweat, and tears to become an icon.

Examples of artists who have become successful from The X Factor, despite not being 100% vocally perfect: JLS, Jedward, Rebecca Ferguson, Cheryl Cole, One Direction, Diana Vickers, Cher Lloyd, and a lot more to varying degrees. All these artists have something special behind them that endears them to their fans - The X Factor. How else do you explain Jedward's success? They have drive, ambition, and a unique image.

Britney Spears will do fine. She will take the criticism with dignity like she always does. Simple.
