Her 50p weave from tooting market has already been snatched and left bald.
To be honest I don't even think anyone would want to snatch that mess of a weave....more like point and laugh that anyone would be stupid enough to put that on their head.....

But anyway....top 5 for LIG would be amazing and show that Alex can get 2 top 5s in a row without radio support but tbh I think it will chart in the top 10...

I think it'll perform similarly to Dance Again by J-Lo.

Thanks

What are you fans hoping for chart wise? I know every fan for their artist(s) will always say #1 as I would for LM. But if not #1 I take it you would like it to chart around the same as Elephant which was #3?
Well a #1 lol But I dunno. It's hard to say, the EP isn't selling at all yet. I'd love a top 5 and for it to be there for 2 weeks. She never has luck with the top 10 placings, generally because of how the UK singles charts work, with impact releases out nearly every week.

Hi everyone! Has anyone seen the interview Alex is supposed to have done in NME this week with Peter Robinson (the guy from Popjustice)? I don't want to buy the magazine if she isn't in it and it isn't a good interview...

Yeah I saw that before...I think her vocals were still ok apart from the voice crack.....it says a lot that she was sick and still didn't mime....Syco used to force her to mime quite a bit, so now she's in control a bit more, it's refreshing to see her always being able to sing live and being comfortable with her voice....it's just a shame she was sick for that performance...

I'm really really concerned however, that LIG has had no high profile TV performance AT ALL. Elephant had Let's Dance for Sport Relief by now, but LIG has had no high profile performance at all....I'm really concerned about that...

I think the best next step for her is to ride this era out in the UK and do as best she can. She's not going to do amazingly well with the singles or album, especially the singles. The album will do "ok" I think. Then I think towards the end of the year I think she should go away quietly and begin plans for the U.S, which realistically I don't think will happen until early next year as she has a few shows in the UK over the summer, she'll be releasing further singles, then XF etc. I'm fine with that though as the U.S will need a lot of dedication and time put aside so that it can be focussed on properly. So yeah, I think she should ride this era out in the UK and then just go to the U.S early next year.

maybe she should get the x factor judge role that will give her promo and keep her in the spot light

No way. I think she should do a disappearing act from the UK and focus solely on the US. The UK has a lot of hate for her at the moment so time out from this market would give that a chance to cool down and for people to direct that hate elsewhere....

If Alexandra returned to the UK as a successful US act i.e top 10s on Billboard, then all these people snubbing her and hating her for no reason will have nothing to say.

Yeah. I like HOH, BUT. A lot of people are saying she's wasting her talent. And I'm inclined to agree. She needs to musically get people on side. Just use her voice again, she always is of course, but she needs to tone the production down for album 3. She needs more ballads, but not an album full, just 4 incredible ones. 1 focusing on high notes, 1 focusing on that belter of a voice, 1 focusing on her husky low tone and one on her mid range (ie like the Frank Ocean cover). 3 mid tempos and 4/5 uptempos, but in the vein of ANL, Oh La La.

Wow, I have a lot to catch up on. Let's start with:

Radio 1 (Or just radio in general):
Let's face it, they're just not going to jump on board, at least not long enough for it to have an impact on how well the single does. So whatever - they're a bunch of C U Next Tuesdays who need to get off their high horse and stop being so damn political. They really don't own the charts as much as they think they do because while playlisting guarantees airplay, that does not always translate into sales - recent cases include The Saturdays effectively bombing with their new single having made the A-List, which is the same with JLS and Proud. So, while it may have helped, it's not the be all and end all. So we move onto the next. What would help is if her team came up with solutions to combat the radio situation. Essentially, they are not doing anything significant to get Alex 'out there' before this album, bar a few tv appearances. What about print media? The only magazine cover she's had is Celebs on Sunday - hardly ground breaking. She should have been all over Company, Cosmopolitan, Glamour etc by now; sure people can argue that publications, like radio, can't be forced by management to give exposure to artists they don't like, but clearly her team are missing a trick because they're not doing enough to improve Alex's public image so that there is a demand for her. All they do well is put her in hideous outfits and make sub-par decisions regarding her career. Fine if you're a new artist trying to catch a break, but Alex is an established UK artist who should be global by now, not to mention INSANELY talented. Why is this hard again? FURTHERMORE, I LOVE Let It Go but the performances for it have not been great if I'm being honest, and this is not a reflection on Alex's talent, but yet again the people around her. The choreography is not suited to live performing so it's not allowing her to capitalise on her dancing and singing abilities to sell the song when she performs it. Given that the radio situation is dire, whenever she performs the song it needs to be FIRE everytime. And sadly I have yet to see a performance of the song that reflects this. I would rather her do the acoustic version during promo if it's that difficult to get a production together that works well with the uptempo version of the song.

Now let's move on to:
The US
I'm enthusiastic about this if her team get it right and put the amount of work in that this transition requires. However, if Alex does make a success of herself there, it may not be that the UK will jump on the bandwagon so quickly - if anything I fear she'll be accused of losing her patriotism before being considered a national treasure that has flourished overseas. I personally think Alex needs to be given a fair crack at this whip because she does have the talent of a DIVA - HOWEVER (and this is a big however), she needs to be marketed as such. It's not going to work if she goes over there as just another pop-tart; her talent needs to be capitalised on. Doesn't mean she shouldn't release pop music, but her performances/ styling/ hair/ appearances etc need to exploit her in the vein of a diva. This is the best way she will fit in the market if I'm honest. So she herself needs to realise when her styling isn't right and make it right. Personally, the most stunning I've seen her this era is when she did this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12AEhjACrxg - classy but not grannyfied. THIS needs to happen more often, especially if the US are going to take notice. And the promo needs to be insane - this doesn't even guarantee immediate success, but the country is so big that she needs the biggest platforms to showcase herself so that there's a greater chance of people taking notice.

I did have more to say but this is such a long post I'm starting to lose sense of what I'm saying so I'll continue it when I get my bearings back .

^Agreed as usual. She needs to step up. Not so much musically but performance wise. Elephant had ok choreo. LIG has awful choreo. Her choreographer, her show stylist (i think she styles herself when she's out + about) and her manager need to go.

Just watched the breathless vid. I wish we got that vocal all the time. I think the uptempos take away from her voice. Fire is a new exception. The vocal is rawer, like they've taken a boundary away on her power. I think it was melodyne, but how a good vocalist would use it, so her vocal is overly polished. But the rawness made Alex Alex. I hope it stays.

I do because you're so right. It's sad we're even saying this. I hate admitting the flaws cause I'm an optimist, but they're running her into the ground. Her mic always needs to be at full volume so she's clear as day, especially in the mornings, Alex is always flawless at night. Her elephant promo outfits were fine, they were really good. But they need to step up. Alex oddly isn't the issue. It's the environment around her. I think she's working with what she has tbh. For album 3, musically what would you suggest? The lyrics aren't such an issue.

When she styles herself she's fine. It's when someone else does it... She really needs outfits again, like the BH one.

Musically for album 3 I would say she needs to really do a Beyonce on us. I don't think her problem is really the fact that she does uptempos because we know she can sing, and the reason she steered clear of ballads initially was so people would stop saying her and Leona Lewis were the same. I will never appreciate the ignorance behind that similarity but that's another story.

SO - she needs to do a Beyonce. Something of a B'Day kind of album - live instruments, horns, big band, the works! Not necessarily a straight R'n'B transition but a pop sound that can transcend better for R'n'B and adult audiences. Obviously she needs to Alex it out rather than strictly copy Beyonce but that's the kind of sound I'd love to see her adopt. If you think about it, B'Day only had one or two ballads but the songs were so well produced (and B's such a good performer) that she could sing the songs live, dance her ass off and not have the vocals compromised. This is the direction Alex needs to take if she wants to maintain the uptempo route.

Alternatively, it would be good if she had some material like Melanie Fiona on her MF Life album (i.e. This Time/ Change the Record/ Watch Me work - if you haven't heard the album, I definitely recommend, it's amazing). I would actually die if she did a duet with Melanie - their vocals would sound amazing together.

EDIT: To be fair, HOH really sounds like it will be a good album so I don't even think the music is an issue this time round. It's just the crappy team. Blah.
