He's never made any secret of the fact he doesn't see himself retiring at RM (just as he did at Utd) so he's doing nothing but being honest in saying he has no idea what the future holds beyond his current contract ...

It really is complete fantasy to think Ronaldo will ever play for us again, his contract is propbably up their with Eto'o's at Anzahi in terms of money per week, so we cpuld never hope to even get close to that, nevermin an actual transfer fee and other bonus' and suchlike.

Yes, I of course wpuld love him to come back, but there really is no chance of it actually happening.

Id love him to one day return to Manchester United, but deep down we all though that wont be the case.

We dont have the transfer fee to buy him £80m to start off with, im sure Madrid would certainly increase the figure, well over the £100m barrier, then there is his wages, which will be out of our price range.

In terms of transfer fee's were Ronaldo to come back to United, did I read a year or two ago that we'd inserted a clause that we would be able to buy back for £80m, and no more. I read it during the time of all the rumours suggesting he wasn't enjoying life out there with Jose.

Would love to see him back, but can I see it? Possibly, but he'll be the other side of 30 by then.

Sometimes he adds God into it of course, tho my favourite was always a reporter who asked him about his future towards the end of the 07/08 season and he said 'The future, only God knows' and the reporter said 'And your agent' He liked that, judging by how much he laughed at it! lol

Wonder where he finishes up. Certainly won't be at OT, sadly, wonderful tho that would be. Just as long as it's not at City. But somewhere else with a bottomless pit of money probably.

TBH he's not always the greatest in interviews - even when he interviewed himself just before he left Utd he didn't manage to get any exclusives out of himself - that's a pretty poor show if ever I saw one

He definitely won't go to City - he's always said that - because he always said he wouldn't want to play for Utd's rivals. Plus since he and SAF still call & talk occasionally because Cris trusts his advice, I doubt SAF would ever advise him to go to City

It would restore my faith in footballers having any integrity at all if we did get Hazard. He would be joining us for footballing reasons and not simply signing for the highest payer.

Doesn't Rooney have a "match highest earner" clause in his contract as well... I thought that was one of the sticking points with Sneijder as it wouldn't have just been £250k a week extra on the wage bill but an extra £25k for Rooney to match him.

I'd imagine Ronaldo would want near to £300k a week at his current form.
