On another note did you see sky's interview with ronnie? Asked if he was staying at Madrid for the future he gave the you never no what will happen line. The same lines he was giving 1 season before he left United.

He'd be welcomed back with open arms from this fan
my thoughts exactly, the man is an absolute machine! He'll be back eventually... right?

STOP PRESS - FOOTBALLER IN TRUTH TELLING SHOCKER!

He's never made any secret of the fact he doesn't see himself retiring at RM (just as he did at Utd) so he's doing nothing but being honest in saying he has no idea what the future holds beyond his current contract ...

It really is complete fantasy to think Ronaldo will ever play for us again, his contract is propbably up their with Eto'o's at Anzahi in terms of money per week, so we cpuld never hope to even get close to that, nevermin an actual transfer fee and other bonus' and suchlike.

Yes, I of course wpuld love him to come back, but there really is no chance of it actually happening.

Ronnie wont be back.

Id love him to one day return to Manchester United, but deep down we all though that wont be the case.

We dont have the transfer fee to buy him 80m to start off with, im sure Madrid would certainly increase the figure, well over the 100m barrier, then there is his wages, which will be out of our price range.

We would all love him to come back, but it aint ever going to happen

In terms of transfer fee's were Ronaldo to come back to United, did I read a year or two ago that we'd inserted a clause that we would be able to buy back for 80m, and no more. I read it during the time of all the rumours suggesting he wasn't enjoying life out there with Jose.

Would love to see him back, but can I see it? Possibly, but he'll be the other side of 30 by then.

HIs script never changes, that's for sure. lol
Did he say 'The future, no one knows? He likes that line.
Sometimes he adds God into it of course, tho my favourite was always a reporter who asked him about his future towards the end of the 07/08 season and he said 'The future, only God knows' and the reporter said 'And your agent' He liked that, judging by how much he laughed at it! lol

Wonder where he finishes up. Certainly won't be at OT, sadly, wonderful tho that would be. Just as long as it's not at City. But somewhere else with a bottomless pit of money probably.

People forget that we're actually quite impressive 'power houses' in the transfer market. We spent 60m last year and paid a near record-fee for a goalkeeper.

The pessimism is unbecoming. Will we sign every player we're linked to or attempt to? No.

But this constant 'We're poor. He'll sign for someone else. Not happening ' is victim mentality not really earned.
I wonder if it's because 60m for 3 players isn't the same as 60m for 2!

Plus of course, as many say, United can afford the transfer fee, but the wages are a different matter if a player's going where the big money a week for him is concerned.

TBH he's not always the greatest in interviews - even when he interviewed himself just before he left Utd he didn't manage to get any exclusives out of himself - that's a pretty poor show if ever I saw one

He definitely won't go to City - he's always said that - because he always said he wouldn't want to play for Utd's rivals. Plus since he and SAF still call & talk occasionally because Cris trusts his advice, I doubt SAF would ever advise him to go to City

Ahh the only true King of the English league, not like that nonsense with Dalglish!

What was that famous billboard "1966 was a great year for English football......Eric was born."
I always did live that!

I remember when they showed that interview the day before the Ch League final and Andy Gray said - referring to his answer about whether he'd be at Madrid or United the next season and he said United - 'It's the first time he's been directly asked that question. Sounds like he was telling the truth as well'

He was gone a week later! lol

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...010-11-profits

Apparently only 8 premier league clubs made a profit in the 2010-11 season and city made the largest single year loss in football history lol

Manchester United, despite paying 50m in interest on the debts loaded on to the club by United's owners, the Glazer family, won the championship having spent less on wages, at 153m, than Chelsea and City, and still made a profit of 12m.
Manchester City, in the third year since Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi's ruling family bought the club and began to pour in money to acquire a team capable of winning the Premier League, lost 197m, the greatest financial loss in the history of football.

Sorry to tell you this, but the King is Denis Law, Eric claimed the crown after his abdication. Eric is not the ONLY King....

Happy Birthday Eric, a pint of Bitter or Guinness perhaps??

Ronnie will be back when Mourihno is our manager and there will be no transfer fee as he will simply let his contract run down.............

It would restore my faith in footballers having any integrity at all if we did get Hazard. He would be joining us for footballing reasons and not simply signing for the highest payer.

So now your suggesting that Skimming is actually Paul Ince, you are calling him Guv! I didn't know we had ex players in here and one we were calling openly yesterday.

Doesn't Rooney have a "match highest earner" clause in his contract as well... I thought that was one of the sticking points with Sneijder as it wouldn't have just been 250k a week extra on the wage bill but an extra 25k for Rooney to match him.

I'd imagine Ronaldo would want near to 300k a week at his current form.

Roy Keane used to have that clause in his contract too, so I'm led to believe.
