I think under the licence they have to have at least one Journalist dedicated to the area?
Notice DS has a mention on this weeks radiotoday eradio news which features a bit more info from Celador on Jack in Swindon!

So there was some "robust debate" about what to do with it.

I read that as meaning they were going to turn it into a Breeze but there was a massive argument and it became a Jack instead at the last minute.

Of course if Ofcom ever let stations in the Wiltshire region merge with the West or Thames Valley regions (which is bound to happen one day), Jack Swindon could merge with Bristol or even, with a deal with ARI, Oxford.

Thank you Jack FM for providing radio that isn't Heart, and consequently I no longer want to stick needles in my eyes and end it all when the Mrs is driving (who drives chooses the radio station).

Jack may play older stuff, but at least the playlist is bigger than 4 songs. Yippee.

4 songs?

Think you'll find they roughly have the same number of songs on the playlist (just different songs to each other): http://comparemyradio.com/compare/Ja...rt_Oxfordshire

That says in the last two weeks during the day:

Heart played 573 unique tracks
Jack FM Oxfordshire played 792 unique tracks

and also Jack's most played artist (The Police) 29 plays, Hearts Most Played artist (Maroon 5) 56 plays

Where are the playlists?!

All I can find are:

http://www.heart.co.uk/on-air/playlist/
http://929jackfm.com/playlist/ and http://www.jackfmswindon.com/music/

Jack certainly do repeat, but I seem to catch less of them than on Heart. In any case I was just making the point I'm glad to have an alternative to Heart, which does my head in.

edit: aha, point taken, don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is made up:
