That's not true, you can change the DNS on your PS3 to link to unblockus servers - http://support.unblock-us.com/custom...rticles/291530

Got a weird problem with unblock-us at the moment. I'm on a free trial with it and it seems like every 24 hours, it resets the internet address because every time i try to sign in to netflix, i have to go to the unblock us website and activate the 'new' address.

anyone had anything similar ?

Do you have a Dynamic IP?

That would be the most logical thing I suppose, but I don't think so - i've got an Orange brighbox router. i set it up as per the instructions on the unblock-us website, but it didn't mention anything about a dynamic IP ..

i've still got the TCP/IPv6 box unchecked and the TCP/IPv4 box checked on my router settings if that makes a difference?

If you are planning to use your PlayStation3 with our service we recommend configuring your router.

In case you do not have a router and your PlayStation3 is connected directly to cable or phone line modem please follow following procedure

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

My PS3 is wireless its in another room away from the router which is downstairs

When i try and set it up the way i set it up on my ipad its fine until i have to log into Unblock US and check service update, as soon as i start to put my email address in the ps3 crashes completely

You do *not* need to configure your router.

I have Sky broadband too, and simply changed my PS3's DNS settings, as Gormond said. Being wireless should not matter. Just change the DNS settings on the PS3 itself.

If you need to check the service / confirm your IP, I think it's easier to temporarily change the DNS on your PC and use your PC's browser, rather than try and use the PS3's shitty browser.

Its nowt to do with Unblock-US as Orange uses a dynamic IP which explains what's going on.

Remember - Orange uses dynamic IP addresses which means that you'll be allocated a different address each time you connect to the Internet.

Interesting. When I had my old orange router, I never had this problem. I had the free trial of unblock-us and it continued to work for a few weeks afterwards without issue.

it's only since i've changed to the brightbox router have i experienced the issue.

i'll probably cancel the trial and netflix if i can't do anything about it because i don't want to have to go online every day to re-activate the bloody thing.

Myself I've found an easier solution by saving the 'Check Service' link to the home screen of my iPhone so only have to select it to resume service.

Yeah, that's not a bad idea - although i suspect that once the free trial ends, it's an easy way for them to weed out those people who want to continue on afterwards without paying.

*shakes fist at dynamic IP*

it may help, download the pc app they have, it automatically updates the details of your IP to unblock_us so that you stay registered with them. ideal for me as my lappy is nearly always on, may help some of you out? i manually changed the details on my ps3 and it works spot on now.

What took you so long?

BSG is a great show. If you haven't seen it you are in for a real treat.

Unblock US is free for 1 weeks trial, after that it's something like £3 a month

Instructions here how to set up your device

On the main page when your set up, there is a drop down box menu in the bottom right of the page to select which country to use.
Just remember to reboot any device that's switched on when you do this so it changes to the chosen region

You don't actually have to reboot whatever systems you're using to change Netflix regions, you just select your region from your pc, phone etc (I use an ipad) then just relaunch Netflix and it will change. You can even change regions whilst watching Netflix, and the next time you launch Netflix it will be to the region selected.
