I agree. The surprise was that Sheldon was the one to reach for Amy's hand though, IMO. I reacted to that.

It wasn't so much the hand holding as much as how they were all proud/scared for their friend, even Sheldon.

Yeah I do agree, signified by the fact that he reached for Amy's hand. We've seen a new side to Sheldon, but whether or not this is revisited next season is uncertain.

For all it's faults, I do like the very slow burn they are giving the Shamy.

Sheldon's walls are coming down, one by one. From agreeing to be boyfriend/girlfriennd, to getting healous at Leonard, to buying her jewellery, to holding her hand, it's all leading towards them being a true couple. Baby steps.

Wasn't the best episode but I did enjoy it nonetheless.
Is that really the series finale? It went so quickly!

I'm sad they're taking the 'Sheldon' out of Sheldon.

It is slightly sad, yes, but I'm glad they're letting his character develop a little.

The thought of waiting a year to find out if Howard makes it home safely is depressing

It does seem very 'perfect American ending' that everyone NEEDS to find love to be complete/happy.

That said though, I've never been very fond of Amy as a character so, maybe this is coming from a biased place.

BIB: I've never hated Amy, but she's probably my least favourite character on TBBT. Yesterday's episode was the first time I actually disliked her though. There's Sheldon's way of irritating people (which I actually really enjoy and always laugh at) and then there's Amy's neediness (which I've never been fond of).

The new series starts in September, so presumably we'll find out then, unless I'm missing something.

It hasn't even been written yet and they're not filming till August, so I expect a delay.

Don't they always start filming in August? First episodes in the US start near the end of September so there should be enough time to film and edit.

"It upsets Sheldon when you play with the Sheldon" (The Gorilla Experiment)

Someone tell the writers that!

I expect it to begin on time. TBBT is CBS's biggest earner, millions of dollars of advertising revenue depend on it.

OH yes... it has more viewers in the US than XFactor.

And, the 3 main characters are being paid 300 grand per episode. Huh ?

As much as I love it, that's utterly obscene !

True, but they received much less for the first three seasons. Having made it such a huge success I think they're entitled to a fair share of the undisputed fortune they've since made for CBS.

Also, the working life of a sitcom actor is often very short and they may have to live off their current earnings for the rest of their lives once the series finishes.

A little maybe, but still nothing near to what the cast of Freinds were on at the end, or even the $1m per episode Tim Allen and Patrica Richardson were offered for another season of Home Improvement.

The unacceptable face of capitalism I guess !!!

I'd pay Penny to be MY neighbour - and if you knew my neighbour - you'd know why.

It's not fair. OH my... it's REALLY not fair.

The cast of Friends each got a $1 million an episode for the last two seasons. That was 2003/4.

Wiki
Quote:
In their original contracts for the first season, cast members were paid $22,500 per episode. The cast members received different salaries in the second season, beginning from the $20,000 range to $40,000 per episode. Before their salary negotiations for the third season, the cast decided to enter collective negotiations, despite Warner Bros.' preference for individual deals. The actors were given the salary of the least-paid cast member, meaning Aniston and Schwimmer had their salaries reduced. The stars were paid $75,000 per episode in season three, $85,000 in season four, $100,000 in season five, $125,000 in season six, $750,000 in seasons seven and eight, and $1 million in seasons nine and ten. The cast also received syndication royalties beginning with the fifth season

Is there any logic in E4's showing of TBBT ? They don't run the seasons in episode order or anything, it's all over the frigging shop , absolute crazeeeeee.

Today they got the first ever episode back to back with the series finale.

It must be the office cat that is choosing the running order.

Weekend showings are random, weekday showings are in order
