Can't update games...

I'm trying to update BF3 but it reckons 3000 minutes to do a 1.3GB download

The thing is on all speed tests we're getting a solid 40MB down, 10MB up and ping of 9ms.

My brothers xbox also has no issues in downloading something, it's just the PS3, and quite frankly it's doing my head in.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS. I know the servers are being hammered with downloads but 3000 minutes is just not good enough.

Are you able to download any other demos ??
Also, anything in your save data that is small you could delete, then start that game and see if that one updates. I'm not sure if updates and demos are on separate servers.

Can't download anything on psn. It either takes forever to download or it times out.

Tried wired connections, wireless connections, deleting game files etc but makes no difference. Had no problems until last night.

Ya. Was fine on a different console when I tried. Not tried in the last few hours though.

I'm at a loss, unless something in your router is off and pointing your MAC to some null port or something.

I thought maybe a porting issue or something but it's only gone wrong since PSN went down the other night and trying to get PS on twitter to reply is like getting blood from a stone.

From what I can make out this problem seems to be hitting quite a few plus users on the official forums. Their games are all stalling downloading and general slowness.

Fixed it! Guess the issue? My Turtle Beach headphones.

Plug them in and I get crap download speeds, unplug them and well 7 minutes to update BF3.
