Better to be a big fish in small pond than big fish in big pond.

I could see it sitting better on BBC2 rather than BBC1. Especially when BBC2 HD takes over BBC HD.

Look what happened to Torchwood. But then the US has its own version of Being Human so at least we don't have to worry on that score!

Whoo Hoo! I've received the bluray boxset of series 1-4. It's a great deal from amazon.co.uk, and they all have the extra bits in them. Wonderful to watch the deleted scenes (and the prequels) all in full HD, and cast interviews, all in full HD as well! I am a happy fan!

I've done a rewatch of Series 4 and it's still a wonderful season to watch. I can't wait to see what they do with the show in Series 5.

I finished watching all of the 4th series episodes over 3 days and I thought it was awful. The storyline started out very intriguing but then just became silly, dull and ended on a whimper. When I can't wait until an episode is over, then something is wrong.

Not all of it was bad. The humor, for the most part, was still good. The three new additions to the cast (Hal, Tom & Alex) were ok if not very memorable. The worst character this series was easily Nick Cutler. Horribly played. He may be the dumbest character to appear on the show since it began. There was no menace to him and he was just a clueless idiot.

Spoiler

The writing and pacing was the main problem. It was just plain poor compared to series 1-3. I hope they sort everything out in time for series 5 (if there's one planned).

Yes, there's a fifth series of 6 episodes, due to start filming next month planning for a 2013 airing on BBC3.

Aw, I liked Cutler. I found him a rather interesting character - pretty sly one too.

I kind of thought that was the point of him, to contrast with the real menace of Mark Gatiss's Mr Snow when he arrived.

Yep - answered a question about drinking blood after it has been taken from a body that had bugged me

It's been nice seeing how the characters used to be & how far they journeyed to reach their 'story's' conclusion.

Series 5 begins filming next month, so hopefully we'll get some interesting spoilers within the next few months.

Series 5 should begin filming at the end of this month. Too bad we're only getting six episodes this time around but here's hoping they're good ones.
