Drayton manor theme park and hotel

Has anyone had experience of Drayton manor, especially with teenagers 13 &16. I read some of Trip advisor's reviews and now not so sure about spending my hard earned cash on a trip there!
We were thinking of staying at the hotel too. Good?bad idea????

don't know about the hotel, but the theme park is good

we used to have season tickets there, when my son was young. out of season you could turn up at about 3.30 and go on everything without delays.

I've been to the theme park a few times, unfortunately the last time I went a few years ago will be the last time I ever go. I was very disappointed. First of all we had to queue for two hours outside the park, only to finally get to the gates to be told there were no more parking spaces, meaning we had to park the car along a country road several miles away from the park. Once we finally got into the park, the majority of the rides weren't working, meaning there were huge queues for the ones that were still operating, and I think we only managed to get on 2 or 3 rides in the end. In my opinion, you're better off saving up some coupons and going to Alton Towers instead. It's not too far away from Drayton either!

I went to Drayton Manor in October last year, it was fantastic. You could literally walk on the rides. Obviously its not as big as Alton Towers (although this could be an advantage) but has great rides. I also think its a fantastic place for kids, (we didnt have any with us but we are classed as big kids) with Thomas Land and the Zoo. Overall I really enjoyed it and we were only there half a day as didnt have to queue, already looking forward to going back on October

Yeah, I'd much rather go to Alton Towers as well, or Thorpe Park.

They only have two, kinda old coasters compared to seven and coasters are the best rides to me.

The stand up coaster is pretty rare in UK though and it's getting old so it's worth going before they knock it down.

No, not bank holiday, it would have been in the summer holidays though as my hubby and I went for my birthday which is in August.
