Lost iphone - need same number

Hi, ive lost my iphone last night, i havent locked it yet as i have a password on it. Ive been ringing it but no one is answering suprise suprise.

Im on orange but i need to sort a new phone out this afternoon. If i go into a orange shop today to get a new phone, can they transfer my number to it straight away so i get to keep same number.

How long will i be without that number?

Have you reported the phone lost to your network? They should block it and send you another SIM.

Have you tried findmyiphone to locate it? You can get to it from the iCloud website. You won't get the number back until you call the network, report it and start the process.

The last time I lost a phone, they posted another SIM and I was up and running the next day. Good luck

It's normally quite easy.. they just point the number at a new sim card. Doesn't take long.

In other words, they can do it in the shop for you-make sure you take i.d in with you.

Always put Find my phone on your iPhone. I lost my iPhone 4s and using "find my phone" I put a message on the display saying reward for return of phone plus a phone number.

5 minutes later got a phone call...You also get the location of your phone on maps. As its free it makes no sense not to do it.

If you don't get a reply to your message you can completely wipe and lock your phone from the app,.

Spoke with orange, they said i can buy a pay monthly sim card from carphone warehouse and they can transfer my number within 2 hours. So ill get my number back today. Off now to buy a new iphone and sim card. What an expensive night out that was! Never again am i getting drunk whilst in the possesion of an iphone.
