The Ellen DeGeneres Show returns to UK screens on Really

The show arrives at its new home on September 19. Good news?

I'd prefer it if some channel or other repeated her sit-com

Bumping this, but according to the Sky EPG, the Ellen DeGeneres Show stops the middle of next week to be replaced with a double bill of Divorce Court with Judge Lynn Toler from 4pm.

Are Really taking Ellen off to stockpile new episodes to avoid catching up with the US, or were the ratings poor to make Really not continue the deal with Telepictures/Warner Bros?

If it's the latter,it's the second time Ellen's been cancelled in the UK.

The thing is, that once you take out the ad breaks, there's virtually noting there. I saw it a couple of times in the US, and enjoyed it. Then I watched it here and I got annoyed. The many ads hide the fact that the interviews about about 1min 30 secs long etc. Here, there aren't so many ads, so it really stands out that actually nothing is happening.

How far behind are the broadcasts here? I think Ellen is off air in the states over summer.

That is a bit of an extreme exaggeration lol., Interviews are of average of 7-10 minutes or longer depending on guest, and typically a one hour network program is 40-42 minutes long with station identification and commercials filling the reminder of the hour. I invite you to go to Youtube and seek out Ellen's interviews to find that something IS actually happening.

(now if you were talking about UK commercials rendering the interviews only 1m30s, then I feel bad for ya!)

and yes, many talk shows are on hiatus during the summer months.

If it is due to the summer break in America, then it's understandable why Really would replace Ellen with Divorce Court.

I love the Ellen show and sky plus it every day. If it's cancelled from another channel it will be the third time a British tv station has cancelled it as it was initially aired on five us, then diva tv now really. Hope it is just taking a break though.
