Which mail program do you have and where did you download it from?
Have actually got Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail or something else? Everyone is trying to help but clear, concise facts would help and any questions asked answered clearly. The question I asked about Internet Explorer still remains unanswered. Members can only help/give advice if correct information is given or, at best, try to second-guess (wrongly so it seems) |

can you see the File, Edit, View, Tools, Help, menus immediately below the Window Title ? If you can, then click on View, then click on Layout in the menu that drops down. In the Basic section at the top, check that there is a tick beside Toolbar. If there isn't, click it to show the tick, and click OK at the bottom. This controls whether you see the Create mail, Reply, Reply All, etc buttons or not.

If the problem is simply that you can't see the relevant menus and buttons, right-click anywhere on the bar to the right of Home / Folders / View / Accounts. Ensure 'minimize the ribbon' is unticked. |

At the risk of stirring up a hornet's nest IMHO Windows Live Mail is more confusing/complicated than it ought to be - some others think the same http://email.about.com/u/r/od/window...mail_deskt.htm Whilst I wouldn't necessarily advise uninstalling Live Mail yet, it may be worth a try with Thunderbird (as suggested by an earlier poster) which is much more straightforward and (usually) configures the servers automatically. Simply follow the prompts, enter your e-mail address and password and it configures the servers for you. Then you're good to go http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ |

I use WLM myself. It's by no means perfect but it's good enough for me. |

I hope all goes well but it's a shame you're having to pay "Prices from just £49" (and we know what 'from' means') for what *may* be a configuration glitch
Good luck. |

What exactly have you got installed at the moment - AVG and Zone Alarm do various versions of their programs - both free and paid for - which have different components. Is your email working?? |

You cant have both avg and zone alarm. They will cause conflicts and slow your machine down.

If Zonealarm is just the firewall version and AVG is the antivirus then you can have both.
Whether you really need Zonealarm firewall if using Vista or Win7 is debatable but no doubt others will voice their opinion on this. |
