When I copied and pasted the link provided by syl it wouldn't work (sorry Syl, probably my internet playing up yet again) but it found me another site with Leanne's biography - wow! That's all I can say. She really was a nasty piece of goods wasn't she? Brought it all back because I'd forgotten most of it

People are going on about Carla going for a married man - Leanne did exactly the same with Danny Baldwin! She shagged Danny while she was going out with his son - nice. She's been involved in arson, double crossing, adultery, prostitution and drug addiction - and that's just what I can remember

Very good actress though

Y'all still on this "Leanne did this in the past, Leanne did that". Yes, she DID them. Not DOES them. She's not DOING them. She DID them.

I've been lucky - I love a drink, but can control it. A few of my friends haven't been as fortunate - some died, and several are in recovery, through AA or NA, which means they've faced ALL their demons, made amends to those they've hurt (without seeking forgiveness necessarily), and have to stay sober whilst people around them continue to party.

This is why I'm glad they tackled Peter's problem, and Carla's lesser problem, and why it being treated on a par with fraud, arson, etc. angers me.
I'm from a similar world, and though I don't see things the same way I understand what you're saying.

Personally I was just having a trip down memory lane but feel free to sound off

But while we're on the subject - No, she's not doing them now but who says she won't again in the future? She has a pretty flawed character to me but that actually makes her rather interesting from a viewer point of view.

Hey no probs I'm not very good with computers sorry. The thing I took out of it was the real badness/selfishness in the character. I think a lot of these flaws are still present today. I agree great actress, maybe she can help the actor who plays Simon on that front.

I'd actually forgotten a lot about Leanne, but remember being mystified when people gave her a fond welcome when she returned after a break. I'd never remembered anyone liking her that much, except Janice, but every character was scripted to say "oh, hi Leanne! you're back!" with a big beaming smile.

It would be nice, if they work up a reveal/confession session with Stella of some of her earlier mis-deeds.
Carla hasn't brought up the prostitution and Paul business, that would kick it off nicely.

Has Corrie ever done a EE style 2 hander episode btw?

Yes, the last one was between Deirdre and Tracy back in 2007, just before her murder trial when she confessed that Charlie's death was premeditated. It's up on YouTube too.

The Raquel/Curly one circa 2000 was brilliant.

People are allowed to have a redemption story; Becky did.
I thought that Leanne and Peter were, together, until the scriptwriters took Peter down a different path.

Agreed, that would be good but I don't think Carla will say anything as her bitchier side seems to have got lost since her rape

And I'd love to see Stella's face if Leanne told her only half of what she's got up to never mind the full whack! <- Stella's face

Absolutely, totally agree - though in Becky's defence I don't think she was anywhere as near as bad as Leanne!

But I am still of the opinion that in deciding who gets day to day care and control over a child the past is relevant as it helps to ascertain a persons character ('of previous good character' isn't said for nothing) but how long they've been 'going straight' should also be highlighted as some addictions/behaviour may take alot of effort and strength of character to overcome and these people should be congratulated. Basically, the truth needs to be out there whether it's pretty or not.

I can't wait to see if it's happy families now with Leanne and Simon or if the little sh..., sorry, lovely child, will decide after a few months he wants to be back with his dad!

Absolutely. The strongest people I know are recovered addicts, and Leanne's past is an issue mainly because she pretends it never happened and uses Peter's problems against him.

in real life, the little .. lovely child would act up with Leanne, having been rewarded for acting up with Peter, but this isn't real life.

Catching up with Corrie for the first time in nearly two weeks, so I'm going to go all conceptual and doing a solo-KornerKabin-only-multiquote-discussion-thread ...
