Well that's a shame. Hopefully someone will be able to take them on. I would have thought a British manufacturer of well made and useful equipment would do well...
All equipment is listed as "out of stock" on the website so it looks as if they have suspended everything. |

Is it just my computer or does that link now point to a different company? Is that significant?

So that's why the internet update refuses to work, glad I did it the first day I bought it now. Next question is, is the retailer now responsible for the warranty?

The silence is a bit worrying though. Don't companies usually trade during administration and this has gone on all week? It is as if all the workers have gone. Hopefully there are some negotiations.
Is the official spokesman on this forum actually on holiday then? |

"Hi All Just so you know, I'm on holiday next week taking advantage of the long weekend. Someone will be monitoring this site but it will not be my normal chirpy service. I'll catch up will all messages posted on my return. Tim" If the business has gone under, I for one will be very sad, as there are few companies who have such good and caring communications with their customers! Chris. |

It says last account activity on the 12th June which is the date they entered administration.

On a practical note, I've recently downloaded the latest software upgradefor the Z500HD (V3.0.A2227.D369.F102) and I haven't yet installed it. I currently have the previous version (V2.0.A2058.D358.F101) I'm a bit confused about whether or not to install the new version...am I right in thinking there are still conflict resolution problems even with the V3 software? In the absence of Tim to guide me on this ( ), I'd be very grateful for any advice from other Z500HD owners as to whether the latest upgrade (v3) makes things better or worse. Especially the problem re recording the specific showing of a particular programme instead of just automatically picking the next showing, which has led to conflicts in the past.If Tim and his colleagues are reading this...we're all keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that things turn out OK. |

Could someone remind me what the situation was re the recording conflict problem, please?* I can't remember whether this problem was addressed in the last software upgrade, or if this was one of the things we were all waiting on from the next update....which I guess might not happen now? (*I mean the problem when the box creates a conflict by recording the earliest screening of a programme, even if it has been programmed to record a later repeat. I know some people (myself included) were having trouble with this as it can lead to conflicts if the first screening clashes with two other scheduled recordings.) |

Bear in mind another work in progress was Text to Speech for the DTR HV-250 to the standard enjoyed by HD PVR users who are running V3 software.
See www.tvonics.com/software-upgrade/dtr-hd500 http://www.tvonics.com/software-upgrade/dtr-z500hd http://www.tvonics.com/software-upgrade for the latest Software release for the DTR-HV250 |

The Voice on the TVonics 0870 phone line says "This number is not accepting calls at present. Please try later."
TVonics posted about the Meridian East DSO on its Facebook page on 21 May 2012. Most recent Tweet: 30 May 2012. Most recent upload to TVonics YouTube channel : 2 weeks ago. Other than contacting the Administrator whose details ot on the Website, seeing how very conscienciously TVonics have been posting in their official DS thread here these past years, I think it has to be a case of Watch This Space, folks. |

Hang in there
Such a shame, seems like such a decent company that actually tries to communicate and has done it so well.
Hang in there and hopefully you will rise again

I'm not sure if Tim is still reading these but hopefully he will. As an employee up until a year ago I'd like to say a thank you for your nice comments of support for what we tried to do with our customer support in these forums. I'm not sure what the future will hold for the company regarding administration but unfortunately it wasn't looking good when I talked to my former colleagues.
TVonics will always hold a special place in my heart as I cut my teeth in the digital TV industry there and I'm really proud of all the little features I had to "persuade" Tim to let me sneak into the products over the years. I'm especially proud of the RNIB product, I wrote this blog post about the development of the feature a few weeks ago, it might provide some insight for those who are interested... http://blog.ssonic.co.uk/2012/05/jou...peech-pvr.html I hope we left you all with something usable and robust enough to see a reasonable service as we really took pride in our work and tried to punch above our weight as a small but dedicated UK design, development and manufacturing team. Thank you to those who trusted and supported TVonics, we really tried our best!!! Doug |
