FWIW I think it's highly unlikely they'll try for a baby until the whirlwind of of Jubilee year is over - and, although she can't actually 'order' them not to have a baby yet, I'm sure The Queen (or her office) has 'gently hinted' that a baby this year would not be appropriate. They're not daft, they know that any pregnancy would immediately take the attention away from Her Majesty, and this is (rightly) her year and a nearly unique event to celebrate. William loves and respects his grandmother far too much to go against her wishes, and Kate seems equally respectful and mindful of the strictures of the family she's married into - it might seem archaic to us, but it's a family which lives by a different set of rules to the rest of us, something William understands, and Kate has accepted that without complaint.
Out of all the royal wives across the generations The Queen is close to Sophie Wessex, and now (judging from the broad smiles when they're together) Kate. It takes a lot for HM to relax enough in anyone's company to look as happy in public as she looked in Nottingham with Kate's. I wonder if it's because both Sophie and Kate are girls from normal, close, loving families with parents with long, happy, lasting marriages behind them (although I believe Sophie's lost at least one parent now, sadly), which of course is what HM has enjoyed with the Duke of Edinburgh. I'm sure it's what she wanted for all her children, but it didn't happen. So no wonder she enjoys the company of the two women who have taken their time in getting to know the life they have married into, the two who seem to have fitted in with the least amount of friction. A bit OT, but I think HM sees a lot of herself and Philip in William and Kate - perhaps that's why she's given her blessing to them having two years of 'normal married life', with minimal royal engagements, now because the two years she spent in Malta as a 'Navy wife' were two of the happiest, most relaxed years of her life too, and HM knows better than anyone that once full-time duties start you can never get this time back. Plus, of course, the Royal machine learned the hard way with Diana (and to a lesser extent Fergie) that throwing a royal wife straight into hundreds of engagements was a recipe for disaster and I think it's good that they've made the decision to do it differently for the younger generation. (Of course the 'Kate is lazy' brigade choose to overlook these inconvenient matters most of the time because they don't fit their anti-Kate agendas!) |

"Kate Middleton" doesn't exist anymore
But a royal birth in 2013 would be awesome. |

I have a slight tummy, but it looks like nothing more than the average woman's tummy. I reckon I'll suddenly pop out. Haha! |

Gosh. I think I am at the very low end of the bump scale. I do often wonder whether the baby is actually in there! |

I'm bored of all the rumours.
Also there's a fan page on facebook where someone is pretending to be Kate herself. Said she was pregnant, then it was with twins and then magically had a miscarriage. I wasn't impressed. It's bad enough that some people are niave enough to think the real Kate has much time for facebook (if any!) and would even announce it on facebook. I hate people who fake miscarriages. It's a truly devastating thing to go through,. |
