Did full English brekkies ever have fried bread? Has that now been replaced by toast or the hash browns? I remember having fried bread when I was a little girl. I'm now 51, it was a long time ago!!

I'd take beans over tomatoes but wouldn't be too bothered if beans weren't available. I'd rather have homecooked chips over hash browns but again wouldn't be too bothered. |

I like baked beans, it's when they use canned tomatoes that really, really gets my goat. I can only handle a grilled tomato, anything else is minging.

I hate baked beans so much I can't put it into words.
I make a big point of saying no beans on my breakfast, sometimes a place will offer an extra hash brown or more tomato, thats cool, if not, then thats cool too; it's my issue that I won't eat beans. One time I was with the OH and my folks, in a cafe and they brought out four brekkies all with baked beans. I said I'm I didn't want beans and sent it back. Waitress was a bit off, as if to say well you've paid for it, just leave them. NO, don't want to see beans and their sauce flowing towards my bacon. Sorry, bit weird about baked beans

If I'm making it myself I will most certainly have beans. I pimp mine up a bit too with some onion and a few drops of hot pepper sauce.

I think most people think of the amount of fat/oil in one slice and give it a miss. Love it as a treat once in a while though.

If the oil is hot enough it only needs about 15 seconds on each side and absorbs little oil. Heat too low and it just sucks up the oil. Several times I've just left the fried bread served with a breakfast. Sent it back on occasion as you could ring it out. It still isn't something I'd have every day. I agree it's a treat. But done right and it's excellent. |

Bacon Beans Tomatoes Fried bread Mushrooms Fried potatoes if i have some spare from yesterdays meal Bread and butter Mug of tea. I cant eat egg as i'm allergic to them, so if we are having breakfast out, i always ask for the egg to be replaced with extra mushrooms or something. |
