It might be worse for a man to be a virgin over 30, as they usually have to put in more effort during it (hope I haven't said something bad there) if he visited an escort, they might just pretend what he was doing was okay.

True but they would teach him surely?

You only need a couple of goes and you'll be fine.

I'm similar to your brother; I'm 46 and never moved out, so still live with my parents. I've just never seen any reason why I would. It's cheaper and I don't have to do is much, and I'd miss the company if I moved out. I know that in the nature of things they won't always be around, but I see no reason to move before I must.

I'm also still a virgin. It's not a principle; I don't see anything morally superior about not having sex. I just don't like the idea of having sex, and it's highly doubtful if I could find someone anyway; the only people ever interested were strangers, and both were very drunk at the time.

I admire you for having the strength to live like that Davethescot. You're your own person and proud of that.

If I was like that I would be borderline suicidal, I worry about going through life without having a longterm partner and I'm only 25 as well.

It would never be a problem.

At least you could be sure they were clean.

It would never be the virginity that was the problem. The reasons why they were still a virgin at a late age might be.

all you forty-odd year old virgins should stop making excuses for being losers in love and get shagging.

But they can't because the majority of women wont date virgins over 30. They're screwed permanently.

It is something thatwould not bother me in the slightest. Wht they have or have not done in their previous private life, is of no concern to me. It would be the future that counts.

You don't think they'd find out?

Either way a virgin over the age of 30 is screwed unless he finds an escort.

How would they find out - surely the only person who knows for sure is the man himself - so as long as he keeps his mouth shut until after the deed is done - then he's no longer a virgin.....at which time, the point becomes irrelevant.

the second thread about virgins by the OP

I really think I'd not give a shit if they were a virgin, tbh, whatever age they were.

the 0.00000000002 seconds until ejaculation would probably give it away

Perhaps - but that is finding out after the fact. When that happens - you are no longer a virgin.

How would the person know you were a virgin in order for them to decide not to sleep with you in the first place. They may suspect or find out after - but thats not what we are talking about.

That would eliminate the "turn off" wouldn't it?
Well you would need to establish whether having a partner who is a virgin is more of a turn off than having a partner who has slept with a prostitute.

I would take a thousand virgins over one man who has paid for sex personally.

I know two blokes (friends) who just never dated or had girlfriends of any sort until one was in his 50's and the other in his 40's. They both joined a dating agency as reccommended by other close freinds. According to belief here, any bloke over 30 or so who has not had sex has something wrong with him (looks or behaviour). Well these blokes were slim, warm hearted, friendly, patient and great to be around BUT because their circle of aquaintances did not include prospective partners and women very rarely ask blokes out they were single and just got on with life.

In 2007 when the first one joined the dating site he met up with a divorced woman on the dating site and she told me herself that she felt so lucky to have met him and could not belive that he was snapped up. She married him pronto - and they are super happy together.

So I know from close experience that many older men that have not had a relationship are in no way odd or weird, but just getting on with life. When in the town I see abusive, unpleasant, smelly men with partners - yet my friends had no dates. Just goes to show that humans are not that good with picking partners - as some of the shallow responses on this thread have shown.

If I really, really liked him and he was wonderful and perfect in every other way, then it wouldn't matter.

My first time was when I was 19 and I have been met with "Oh my God" at that from some people!!! I think that 19 is still reasonably young to lose your virginity and its sad that some people think that it is not normal to be a virgin after the age of 16/17.

For the record, the people that have been surprised by me waiting until I was 19 have usually been the ones who lost theres at 14 or so.....

That's not the experience I and the other people I know go through. Those whom are unattached and single - myself included - make up a very small and decreasing minority.

I know of someone who did this and whilst they don't regret it themselves and is happy to have the chain of virginity taken off him, it don't sit right with me. Feels like a shortcut - a cop out if you must. If a future partner of his were to find out what he did in the past, it isn't going to look positive on him.

But what does a guy do? He's told he can't be dated because he's a virgin over 30 because of lack of experiance.

Then has it off with several escorts to combat this and told thats not good enough either.

He can't win.

Whether a person is virgin or not is no-one else's business.
