15 Christina Sturmer – Ich Lebe (Austria, Toulouse, Katsuya) – Austria called on one of their biggest names and she delivered ninth place, hasn’t been beaten since
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHhFwM3hQOU 14 The Asteroids Galaxy Tour – The Golden Age (Denmark, Runavik, gav016) – only made the semis, perhaps suffering from its use in a TV advert, but I liked it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5h-LAvQDCQ 13 Jenny May – Es Gribu Vel Milet (Latvia, Toulouse, 21stCenturyBoy) – winner in Toulouse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HKoHitU-ps 12 Vintazh – Roman (Russia, Riga, stanld03) – yes it’s the song that ends with the happy smiling face of Roman Abramovich, Russia still haven’t done better since finishing 13th with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcRlypUPvGI 11 Monica Ferraz – Go Go Go (Portugal, Riga, Pooley) – this grew on me a lot, only just scraped through each round but went on to finish 10th http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aETjD92F8TA |

10 Aura Dione – Geronimo (Faroe Islands, Riga, Saturn) – fourth time lucky for Aura with victory in Riga
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRlIeDQ5WYU 9 Das Pop – The Game (Belgium, Runavik, xxUtdGirl127xx) – the video for this was great, to match a brilliant song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rytiv2ZfYvA 8 Quest Pistols – Revolution (Ukraine, Toulouse, BethnalGreen) – the Ukrainian cross between the Kings of Leon and the Red Hot Chili Peppers finished fifth, still their joint record http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkmGo3QHPdM 7 Laam and Jennifer Paige – Ta Voix (Luxembourg, Runavik, Saturn) – Great chorus to this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VI8nQU1fu0A 6 TinkaBelle – The Man I Need (Switzerland, Runavik, Pooley) – Got big points in the final from me in one of the strongest contests yet imo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqXXNZ34jiQ |

5 Tiziano Ferro – La Differenza Tra Me E Te (San Marino, Riga, Saturn) – This was a brilliant Italian song, I still don’t understand how it didn’t make the final
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KN_nyGehek 4 Natalia Podolskaya – Odna (Belarus, Toulouse, kvn) – My favourite in Toulouse by an absolute country mile, loved this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkwdhbf5mhw 3 Belinda – Dopamina (Andorra, Riga, kvn) – 12 points to kvn for two contests running, this was another brilliant uptempo song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBzNve5icUc Top two coming up, although probably not too difficult to guess by now. |

2 Sylwia Grzeszczak – Male Rzeczy (Poland, Runavik, stanld03) – just a stunningly beautiful song, and proof that a great song can come from a country you maybe least expect. One of the best ever for me.

Yes in a sensational shock, my number one is Carlisle's Belarusian song I Robot by Katya Chehova!
![]() Not really, it's this: 1 Agnes – Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (Sweden, Runavik, thomizzle) – everything I want from a song in DSFE, deserved winner of one of my favourite ever contests http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icefc1Zr_tc |

Alright, so I'm going to do something akin to avb but I'm going to do it with much more ego stroking. So here are my top 16 (because I really couldn't cut it down any further!) songs I have entered in to the competitions
16. Alina Orlova - Ramuma - Lithuania (Warsaw, 15th in QF) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVNvJkzwup0 Alright, I really didn't like Chudesa when it was entered in Madrid, but then when I drew Lithuania the first person I thought of looking at was Alina. Found Ramuma and I really think it's a beautiful song, it's got a very memorable chorus. 15. Luttenberger Klug - Nur an Mich - Austria (Riga, 21st in Final) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj_Y0T3ojNY Featuring Charlee's sister So I found this whilst I had entered Ich Lebe in Toulouse and thought that it was actually a better song at the time, hence why I asked for Austria again in Riga. It actually did better than Ich Lebe in both its QF and SF then suffered one of my trademark collapses in the final ![]() 14. Jali - Española - Luxembourg (Helsingborg, 16th in QF) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeRGqIsoGxc I remember that just before Helsingborg, I was making a list of songs that I would enter should I ever get a certain country. I found a song for Belgium/Luxembourg and then about 30 minutes later, I was given Luxembourg, so off Jali went. I really liked it and was shocked that it got such a bad response. I adore the video too. 13. Sertab Erener - Bu Böyle - Turkey (Gyumri, 15th in QF) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYf-7w0M8uE Apparently, sending a song in the Turkish language is not a good thing to do in DSFE. At least that's what I found, anyway. I really, really like this song and I LOVE Sertab, but it was either too close to "Here I Am" to be given good points or people just didn't like the fact it was in Turkish, I guess. 12. Iana - Predator - Belgium (Stavanager, 20th in Final) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O20hHi1Ai8w Iana comes 5th in Semi Final, comes 20th in Final. Yep, another victim of my usual voting collapses. What annoyed me more (and partially led to me not taking part in Copenhagen) was the fact that I went to a load of effort in picking a song for Belgium, as kvn could attest to at least. 11. Kirsty Almeida - Spider - Gibraltar (Runavik, 10th in QF) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UouTxmW8S3E No QF exit has ever pissed me off more than this one did though The main problem people seemed to have with it was "oh no I'm scared of spiders, this song is awful!". The spider in it isn't A: real, B: scary (I have arachnophobia myself) and C: has an afro. I love Kirsty though, but I remember how excited I was when I saw Gibraltar was an option and then this happened.10-6 later

I stand by my stance of 'no to any songs with spiders in them'... ![]() The most dangerous songs to enter are the ones you really like, it can go horribly wrong as I found out this time, when I probably had my first chance to win since Malmo. Moja Noc for number 1?

10. Cosmo Jarvis - Gay Pirates - England (Orebro, 9th in SF)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dysG12QCdTA A victim of how fiercely competitive Orebro turned out to be, I guess, given that with 86 points it would have easily cleared a Semi Final in any other contest. It's just a whole big bundle of fun and lovelyness and prejudice in a story about gay pirates. I have no regrets of entering it when it's probably going to be my only chance to have England ![]() 9. Glasperlenspiel - Echt - Germany (Malmo, Eliminated in National Final) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsbTaacr5Ic Someone finally got in on Youtube without it being immediately deleted! I LOVE this song and I was gutted when it didn't qualify from the NF. I'm definitely in the camp that both of my NF songs were better than the ones that made it. I partially blame this one on German language discrimination <_<8. Christina Sturmer - Ich Lebe - Austria (Toulouse, 9th in Final) Yeah, I thought I preferred Nur An Mich for a bit, then I realised that oh no, Ich Lebe is all kinds of awesome. Right from my first contest in Torshavn (when Sturmer made her debut too) I said that Ich Lebe could do really well for Austria...but I was definitely not expecting 9th in the final. It had a very dedicated band of fans though, who meant that it kept the same level of votes throughout (11th in the SF to 9th in the Final must be a record jump up for me ). Also my last top 10 song ![]() 7. Sarah - Okay - Denmark (Llanfair, 16th in Final) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdZc8FVqoFM Most people will know what I'm going to say about this. ROBBED. ROBBED BLIND. Seriously. This is where I noticed the disturbing trend of me having horrible voting collapses in the final. 1st in its QF, 5th in its SF (but with a penalty, otherwise it would have been about 3rd) and then 16th in the Final. Just...ugh. I really, really like the song and just wish that it had done better. 6. Lights - Second Go - Austria (Malmo, Eliminated in National Final) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPLRkyGU3cM BLOODY MOOSWALDER! Seriously, some dreary awful woman droning on beat this! Ugh. I can understand why, since Lights' link to Austria is somewhat tenuous through her father, but come on, this song is all kinds of awesome. That alone should have got her through. And of course thom then STOLE her for Liechtenstein in Orebro and got fourth place. ROBBED! 5-1 coming soon it shouldn't be hard for many of you to work out which songs are in that top five...
