Hello CC

OT I know (apologies all round) but I have tried to answer some of your concerns in the Politics forum.

The Preeve does get around doesn't he. There's a thread running at the moment asking about him. He seems to have had a lot of jobs since leaving LBC.

He was another who just disappeared without any notice. I used to enjoy his shows - especially Friday when TPT was on with him, she was quite barmy.

I don't really remember much about Robbie V except he had a distinctive voice and my mum often used to shout at him when listening to the radio!

I also really enjoy the Ken and Dave show, although I often forget to tune in as tend to be walking dogs or doing chores at that time. Cristo and Duncan OK but only in shortish doses - can't really put my finger on why (maybe because I'm frustrated that I'm not asleep!). Always try and catch the Medical and Legal Hours (mostly out of morbid curiosity but also informative and sometimes quite moving). I have lots of respect for Iain Dale although the Political Hour is too heavy for me to listen to in the evening.
Oooh I missed your posts skim reading to catch up. Welcome BunBuns.

I can't remember seeing a single negative comment about Ken and Dave. The best show on LBC of the week for me.

The level of cosying-up and corruption is huge, and I really hope that the issue is not forgotten.
If nothing else I hope that the powers that be will think twice about being seen getting into bed with the media. The News International people were getting too big for their boots.

There was a very interesting chap (sorry can't remember who) from The Telegraph talking to Nick this morning. He made the point that friendships between political parties and the media should not be set in stone as, at any time, a story may break where a newspaper has to turn it's back on such a relationship. Being a tabloid hack, Nick didn't understand what he was talking about.

That was Peter Oborne, one of my favourite writers.

The same Peter Oborne who came onto the show one morning about a year ago discussing some subject to do with criminal justice clearly not knowing much about Nick . Oborne launched into a rant about liberal lefties like Ferrari who were to blame for all this mess. Nick contained himself well and was stunned to be called a liberal do-gooder.

I think someone's had a word in Peter's ear since.

Thanks for that Mark. I wish I'd heard Nick being accused of being a liberal leftie!

Well. I've got the LBC podcast sub so I might just hunt down the clip and post it.

It was mentioned on here at the time, so under a special RIPA investigation I shall trawl the data and pinpoint the offending poster who gives away the exact date of the offence.

I expect a prosecution to follow

Oh dear, being very tired I read that as persecution.

I can imagine the good people of DS Radio thread, subforum LBC chit chat donning their robes and black caps to condemn the poor old person who mentioned such a terrible thing! M'Lord.

Olly fans make the most of him, Cristo's back next week and who knows when he'll be on again. Think I'll e-mail JR2 to let him know that Olly's a great find.

I believe he's going back to doing his hour on Iain's Sunday show from next week.

Morning all.

I listened to Olly Mann's show again yesterday and thought it was very good. He has a nice relaxed style which works very well in that particular time slot.

Thanks, CD, I know your response wasn't aimed at me but I read your post and it made perfect sense, I can understand what's going on a lot better now.

How about OM for the Sunday to Thursday 22.00 - 1.00 slot? Oh the joy if that could happen.

Steve Norris in with Ken this morning.

Congratulations to Tessa Jowell for her DBE. She's been on so many times discussing the Olympics with Nick F. that she's almost part of the LBC family.

What have you done to the thread Twinks?

Anyway, driving out of London I heard the majority of Ken and David and the programme was quite entertaining. Surprised to hear David so supportive of the bus drivers getting a bonus payment for the Olympics.

Thank you Charlie.

I missed DM, today - I enjoy his presenter style. He often

clarifies political points - rightly or wrongly.

Where has everybody gone, this afternoon? - not to the seaside, that's for sure.

Well I did have a fish around today for the date and it turns out this was smack in the middle of the riots and I got carried away reading all the posts rather than looking for the clip.

It seems the thread had the lawnmower treatment too when the gardeners went in. It was probably one of my posts that causes it demanding live rounds be used to put a fairly abrupt stop to all the burning and pillaging.

I will locate it sooner or later for posterity

Lucky old you - the rest of us had to make do with Ken and Steve (Norris)! Actually it wasn't bad.

I didn't hear it today (and to be fair, I usually podcast anyway), but Steve Norris has tended to be more party political than Dave M, I think, and therefore a lot less fun to listen to.
