Re Super Jedward Leslie Kee

Just read my emails, and had got a reply from Leslie Kee advising there was only ltd copies of the book/mag left and to order ASAP (which I have of course).
Can't remember who first posted about it.

Yes, I was thinking this publication had to be a limited edition : that's normally the case when a photographer publishes their own work.

It's a bit complicated because the fanbase here is bigger but it's also spread all over the country. I don't know more than 3 or 4 Jedheads living in the same area here, and this is a big country. Maybe Madrid would be the better choice because it's the easier city to get to (and because it's where I live ) but once again it's difficult because most of the fans are under 18 so they may have trouble travelling.
This is also the reason why we didn't try a Waterline flashmob, there was no way we could gather a large group for doing it.

Anyway we can suggest all the places we want, but if Universal doesn't help us with the promotion, we won't listen to their music anywhere here. (I'm actually pretty surprised the album is gonna be released here to be honest)

And Momma Jedward tweeted that they did the story boarding on the Monday night, after their appearance on Craig Doyle Live. It's amazing to think that they're now in Florida, whereas one week ago, they didn't even have plans for the Young Love video!

P.S. Welcome back, Pithy!

That must be the fastest made music video ever : they started thinking how it would look late on Monday night and uploaded it to Youtube on Wednesday evening

Hopefully I'll get a copy. The email was sent to me at about half five, which was about 8 hours ago. Mind you I think it was Friday morning I emailed them, so that was a while they took to reply, not sure how many hours behind/infront they are.

I had a slightly depressing thought about UMI: for them to promote an overseas act like Justin Bieber is going to require less effort but will create more income for them than a local act like the Jeds.

But having said that, it looks like there is some serious promo going on for Young Love. As well as all the Irish radio appearances, we're also seeing lots of American teen blogs mentioning them - a sign that the Jed name is getting out there!

The full-length slowed version was made by a fan who manually slowed down the YouTube clip, so its tempo isn't necessarily correct.

BIB...Thanks! All of you are so kind! xxxx

I've now followed their mom... she comes across as wanting to a) take care of her kids, and b) trying to learn the ropes.

We all need to help her in any way possible.

It might not happen in Spain this year, but just keep asking the stations... sometimes these things take time.

This brings up another point...I believe that international fans could really assist in scoping-out possible cities/venues for J&E's team. If one thinks about it, their label can only do so much in terms of determining whether a city/venue is cost-effective... they don't have boots-on-the-ground to help them once they decide to include a city in the tour.

This is where we can help.

We can suggest potential venues, their sizes, locations, demographics, etc. and also help with logistical suggestions such as hotels, etc.

I just don't believe the old top-down marketing works anymore (except with huge, processed acts)... grass-roots is much more effective.

Very cool! I hope it reaches 2m soon enough. That would be an especially good goal to reach as it would be more views than Boyfriend and would put it in the same league as Lipstick and Bad Behaviour.

Just to add to this - Wow Oh Wow only had 623,603. I think J&E have learned a lot since then about harnessing the power of social media!

I got that reply as well a few days ago, but saying "order ASAP as there are not many left" is classic sales talk IMO. Since then he has tweeted again about the book being available.

I read somewhere that 1000 copies of the Lady Gaga book were printed, so I wonder if that will be the same for the Jedward one. I also wonder if he'll sell them all, even that small number as the price is so high.

Jedward got the power — just now I saw the figure 1,044,038 hits. I'll be very interested to see where this leads. Surely people will want the song properly, not a lesser sound from youtube and I hope people will buy, buy buy!

Cool...! Have any of their videos been mentioned liked this before on DS? (other than being reviewed i mean) Either way its all good for the viewing count. Just hope the views turn into sales for them *fingers crossed*.

As for Luminous... im in love I actually prefer the radio version, its got that extra kick to it which i think a song like this needs (never been into rave type stuff so i have no idea what im talking about really lol) but I can imagine Radio 1 playing it on a Friday or Saturday night. Still intrigued over why there are 2 versions kicking about tho?

I had wondered about the "sales talk", but the fact that the email asked you to choose a cover from ABCD was a bit of a givaway, as you would have thought that some covers might sell out first! Anyway, I've still to hear back from them, so fingers crossed.

ps Did the Lady Gaga book have different covers?

Hi Anyone know if there is an actual (correct)version of Luminous in youtube? I dont' want to get too used to listening to a 'sped up' version, it thats what it is, and then be disappointed when the album arrives. It sounds really good though.

I don't think the Gaga book had different covers.

Leslie Kee ran a competition on twitter where he was giving away 10 copies of the Jedward book, and you had to say which cover you wanted. Maybe he used that to decide how many copies of each cover to get printed?

BTW I just saw on the Young Love youtube vid someone new to Jedward said that a comment on a 1D video had brought them there. I'm off to leave comments about Young Love on 1D & Beiber vids!

We have planned to spam radio DJs on twitter, but we need the single on iTunes first.
And it's very interesting what you say about the venues, it's true that fans could help that way

I think there won't be one until the album is out. The radio one was sped up, and all the "slowed down" versions have been made by fans so I doubt there's one that it's exactly as the original. Good news is that the album is out in less than a week
