hard drive tv recorders

Hi,
I already have a freesat hd box, if i want to get something to record tv what are my options?
do i have to get a freesat/freeview + box or can you get hard drives pvrs that you can connect to a freesat box and record stuff?

You cannot record HD content in HD other than converting the content to analogue component which will be totally cost ineffective.

HD content is protected against digital recording by HDCP which means you cannot record digital HDMI output.

Basically if you want to record HD in HD you need another STB.

A Humax HD FOX T2 will record Freeview-HD to an external hard disc as an example. .
