The next genre is Young Adult Fiction. Please pm your 2 nominations to me by Saturday 9 June. I will then post all nominations on Sunday 10 June so that voting can start. I look forward to receiving your nominations!

Hi all - I've held off posting the voting results as I have only only heard from a small number of people. I will therefore wait until this coming Sunday to post the results in order to give everyone who wants to a chance to vote.

Youth Fiction Book
And the winner is...
The Midnight Palace by Carlos Ruiz Zafon I will set up a thread in the coming days. How do people want to discuss this? A web chat followed by open forum or just as and when people finish? Let me know what you think. Happy reading!

Also, time to choose the next genre? Any suggestions? What do people think about "something written before 1900?" |

![]() How would a web chat work? I'm a slow reader, , so would probably suit me to post as and when finished! I like that idea, pre 1900. |

Hi Mrs Timmy
For a webchat we fix a time - usually a Wednesday night about 3 or more weeks away, then we try to read the book by then and all log on and post our views. It is a bit more interactive than just posting as and when. When we do that though, some people either can't make it or don't want to take part and post their thoughts earlier or add them later. |

I quite like the idea of an online chat myself. Shall we say Wednesday 11 July at 8pm?
For those who can't make it, I've set up the following new thread which has been pinned so please feel free to post as and when you can. DS Book Club # 15 - The Midnight Palace - Carlos Ruiz Zafon OG I like the idea of a book pre 1900. Were you thinking fiction or any other / all genres? |

Hi guys and welcome Mrstimmy
![]() Not sure I'll have ordered and read the book by 11th July but I'm happy to comment on it afterwards. Like the sound of reading something pre-1900. |

Hiya gang
![]() 'Fraid I haven't got hold of this month's book yet so will add my thoughts when I finally manage to read it. Unfortunately though, with the Olympics coming up, I don't think I'm going to find enough time to read the pre-1900 book. Sorry! Will rejoin after it's finished though. |
