Haven is what I have used when taking very young kids (who would get sick on a long car journey or on a plane, would scream a lot, and don't yet have passports anyway).

The weather isn't a big deal, there are plenty of indoor amusements, and usually it's not as bad as people think.

Going abroad would be meaningless to young children anyway; they won't appreciate it. And there are myriad extra costs and hassles which people are overlooking.

(I travel abroad by myself; I choose the cheapest accommodation, yet I still end up spending 2-4 times what I've anticipated, even after hundreds of trips!)

I've been to bulgaria 3 times in the past 5 years. I prefer golden sands resort to sunny beach. If you want a "party" holiday it is probably one of the best places you can go, food and drink was really cheap, cheaper than anywhere else i've been abroad.

Yes it's really just a party holiday we want. Probably will do the 7 days. Going self catering as we want to be able to do our own thing and not have to be restricted to the hotels for certain meal times. Plus food is the least of our concerns, it's more the drink we're interested in lol. We are more likely just to find a McDonalds and grab something from there!

Camping is great for kids and is sooooo cheap.

I can recommend Wales.

Go to a place where your kids will meet up with other kids and you will only have to spend out for an ice lolly each per day. If it rains just drink wine and welsh cakes while your kids mess around in their or their friends tent.

I can also recommend wales, especially south wales. Beaches rival anything you get abroad, miles and miles of undeveloped sandy beaches and I have rarely seen them crowded, many times I have been during school holidays and yet had a mile of beach between just a few people.

If you camp in this country, then you don't really need to book anything, and can choose to go when the weather's fine. Or at least, when it's not raining..

Thank you for that, I will check nearer our week off.

W hace currently decided that we are going to stay at home for the week but spend each day having days out like a day in brighton etc...

The Baltic States have a reputation for being cheap and cheerful.

Unfortunately the populace can be racist, prone to alcoholism and
are locked in a 1980s music and fashion timewarp, so, if you are from
Scotland you'll feel right at home.
