ITV1 England VS Ukraine Signal Loss

Did anyone lose their signal 5-10 minutes into the programme?

No problems here on Freesat. 5-10 minutes into the programmes or into the match?

Must be the OP's equipment then. There was no loss of signal for me either on Freesat.

Edit: I should mention that I watched ITV1 HD. There might have been an issue with the SD channel...

I watched on Freeview SD with no problems, apart from Rooney's sitter.

I was watching on Virgin Media (ITV 1 HD) and the first 5 mins it did keep loosing signal but just thought it was a problem with something out there.

Some problems with ITV multiplex here in NI from Belfast (Divis) last couple of weeks. Think they're doing some transmitter work in preparation for DSO in October.

I was meant to put black screen not signal loss.

What happened was, 5/10 minutes into the programme, not the actual match, the screen went black and it didn't disappear until near towards the 1st ad break.

This happened on Sky.

I was watching ITV HD via Sky and no loss of signal or black screen throughout the entire programme.

I suspect an aspect ratio change handling problem on the OP's equipment that was fixed by the ad break changes.

They were both in the same aspect ratio, weren't they?

And an AR change wouldn't cause a black screen, just an incorrect aspect ratio until the flag was sent again.

ITV1 HD from Crystal Palace was fine, as was ITV4 HD via Sky.

watched on ARD analogue terrestrial in Kronberg, stretched on a cheap LCD - no problems here (aside from the obvious )

Depends on the nature of the fault with the OP's equipment. It may have got confused as to what it should be displaying and gave up the ghost. Next time it happens they could try manually switching AR mode.

I thought I heard the commentator apologise about the transmission and the end of the game.

My downstairs freeview picture was breaking up and in the end was unwatchable after about half an hour so I watched the rest of it upstairs on my freeview in my bedroom with no signal glitches.

It wasn't aspect ratio handling problem, what happened was that I recorded the entire programme on Sky+, I then noticed a black screen 5/10 minutes in the programme.

So it was obviously a problem with the recording then - as no one else saw a black screen while watching it live.......

It seems there was a fault in some regions. If you search Twitter for 'itv blank' you will see many people complaining that ITV and ITV HD went blank on Sky, and people suggesting they use channel 993 implying that the problem didn't affect London.

Which is probably why nobody apologised for it.

The fault was rectified in time for the match, it was just a bit of the build up that was missed AFAIK.

Don't recall hearing that. All I do recall is Adrian Chiles sarcastically apologising at half-time for England having not yet got the job done (it was still 0-0 at half-time), and that this was due to circumstances beyond their control.

Whether it was live or recorded is irrelevant.

This is exactly what happened to me.

The last analogue terrestrial TV transmitter in Germany was switched off nearly three years ago.
