'Girls' (HBO)

Anyone watching this?

Loving it at the moment. It's quite the anti-SATC.

Seems like Kidulthood for an entitled American generation. You'd honestly think they had a better deal of it over there between Sket and Kidulthood suggesting London's ladies are all violent slags while New York's young ladies are more Woody Allen-esque navel gazers than Lindsay Lohan wannabes. Tonally at times it reminds of of Todd Solondz's Happiness in it's awkward but straight on address of issues in an attempted humorous light, such as the character rationalising why having HIV might be a good thing for her social life by limiting her chances of being assigned responsibilities.

Yep, and it surprised me a bit as it's not my normal type of TV but a trailer hooked me in and it is quite funny.

A filthy show. Do we really need to see people sitting on the lavatory?

I think if you're that sensitive that watching someone on a toilet seat disturbs ans offends you, you should not be watching anything on HBO or American cable networks or indeed anything post-watershed on terrestrial TV or even Cbeebies. The exploding toilet scene in The Goonies is also probably one for you to miss so as to not trauamatise yourself even though that's a kids film from 25 years ago.

The character of Hannah is awful, totally self absorbed and up her own bum. Her boyfriend was really annoying at first but was really endearing in the last 2 eps. Love Jessa and I LOVE Shoshanna, can't wait for series 2!

I know the UK is only just getting S1 of this, but any idea when the US is getting S2? Not that I'm planning on watching it illegally online or anything

The 2nd season starts in the US on January 13, 2013. It will have 10 episodes.

Just watching the first episode of this ..I think it has most realistic sex scene I've ever seen from television.

Not what you usually get from t.v ..or maybe it was just realistic to me
