I agree... I adored her partnership with the Gavbot & thought she showed great personality with both him and Phil Tuffnell. I got the impression that she couldn't stand Dan last year and unfortunately went a bit introverted as a result.

I don't mean to sound horrible about Katya, and I'd agree she was a good stooge to Gavin Henson ... but television thrives on strong characters. That's what audiences engage with, and that's why Anton and Brendan will be back again, even though they are, for me at least, past their sell-by date. They're identifiable, will generate comedy/controversy (delete as applicable) and that's why they've survived.

I think it's much tougher for the women pro's than it is for the men - especially on a series with such a strong female audience - so, in a way, I'm surprised Katya is the only casualty ...

Definitely not happy! She and Pasha had a brilliant partnership, and their foxtrot with Brendan/Natalie and jive with Caro Emerald were two of the best dances of the whole series. Yeh, Dan wasn't great, but she should have been given a chance. That said, at least it's only one, and not a massive bloodbath, but very upset by this :/

Katya did what Erin does, make the best use of her celebrity partner. I was miffed when Aliona got yet another young fit male for the third year and Katya had an injured cricketer, a rugby player who was as stiff as a board and the same for a Daybreak presenter - stiff

She is but it didn't stop her going on the tours.........my guess is it wasn't her choice - the cynic in me says the producers want a young, free and single pro as someone mentioned earlier for these corny showmance storylines to hell with the fact that Katya proved her worth as a great dancer/teacher/choreographer

I'm of the opinion that it might well have been her decision actually. Personally I think her marriage might well be a factor for Katya deciding to leave. Like someone has said on here earlier I think she either might be trying to get pregnant or else already is.

If that's the case then that would somewhat ease the disappointment of her not coming back - I hope she's happy whatever the future holds for her.

Katya isn't my favourite, but I didn't want to see her go. I think that she's a great dancer and a good teacher who has got some (very) limited celebs further in the competition than I ever expected.

However, she's a very talented lady, and not just in dancing either. I'd like to see her on the big screen again. I'm sure that we won't have seen the last of her.

I cannot believe that Katya is gone, yet they have kept Anton, James and Ola, Vincent and Flavia, awful Kristina and even Erin, who I like, but seems to struggle to keep up.

Katya was lovely, a great dancer and should have been kept. I am glad that they haven't ditched Pasha though, but they have broken up a good partnership

Well I agree with you re Katya - I think it's a sad loss to the show, but sorry I love Flavia and Vincent and I'm glad the producers have held on to them the show wouldn't be the same for me without them!

I like James, Ola, Kristina and Erin too - the only one I can't stand is Anton but I'm not too bothered now he's still in because at least Erin is still there

"I wanted to reassure her that she will still be on the next tour."
