Tor

https://www.torproject.org/index.html.en

Just been reading up on this tonight, does anyone use this?
Does it live up to its own review?
I must add I have nothing to hide but after installing Ghostery and seeing how much we are tracked on -line wandered if this is the way to go.

Install the Collusion add-on and you'll be certifiably paranoid.
Tor slows things down noticeably, things like Flash and cookies don't work, which is the point I guess. Unless you're living in a Third World dictatorship it probably isn't worth the effort.

probably it anonymises. but there is nothing in theory to stop data stream info being "tapped off"at each stage. enough info wd enable anonymisation to be reversed.

the principle seems sound. going through several servers with ip addr changing each time is safer than a single vpn.

you could always use internet via different proxies. randomly via lists. using dns at far end hides a certain amount. and use startpage instead of google ......

Yepp I use Tor quite a bit for surfing. I don't wear a tinfoil hat or anything like that and don't use it for naferious activity either, just the more they want know what I do the more I like my privacy.

You don't always have to have anything to hide to be anonymous.

I mean I rarley use the .onion deepnet sites unless there's something above ground I cannot find. I use it for day today surfing too.

Surf safe is always the best option. As todays reasonable question may well (I am not saying it will be) on tomorrows blacklist.
