Eurogamer Expo 2012: 27th-30th Sep, Earls Court, London

This year's Eurogamer Expo takes place from Thursday the 27th of September through to Sunday the 30th of September, again at Earls Court in London.

http://www.eurogamer.net/expo/

Hardly any info has been released yet (despite the website saying there'd be info from the 1st of June), it did finally start to drip feed out this afternoon, with info regarding...

Ubisoft: Assassin's Creed 3 will be playable, plus there will Far Cry 3, Rocksmith, and "a full-size "Disco Bus" showcasing Just Dance 4".

No other detail yet, although there was a comment regarding dev sessions:

Quote:
We are also cultivating our biggest and most spectacular line-up of developer session speakers for 2012 and will start announcing those soon. Last year BioWare's Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka unveiled the release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic, and we also had Naughty Dog showing Uncharted 3 among many others. Some of the names we have for this year should top that and then some.
Last year's dev sessions were very good, so this year has a lot to live up to.

More info on Tuesday, according to Eurogamer's Twitter.

Last year, I went on the Friday. I saw loads of great games, plus went to two dev sessions: Uncharted 3 and Prey 2. I wish I had also gone on the Saturday, for the BioWare session.

This year, I'm going on the Saturday.

I'm gutted they no longer do this 'Up North' in Leeds my friend lives there and it was nice to pop down etc etc

I went to the GAME one last year the queues were stupid ... in fact I we were sat in line for ages (about 2 hours) at the Bethesda place only to find that the queue was to show an extended trailer for Skyrim?!?! Thankfully they let us play RAGE so all was forgiven ....

They are quite fun just tiring and well you do find yourself in line for a lot of the time

Ha, yeah I remember the queues for OnLive. Horrendous.

The Batman queue wasn't that bad when I was there on the Friday last year.

I'm hoping that there are some good dev sessions on the Saturday.

The queues were massive on the Saturday last year. I guess its the busiest day for them. Hopefully they have stretched it out a bit more this year so less queues

I remember at the 2010 expo there was a Killzone 3 session and I was sat with my mate Julia and the dev was demoing Killzone 3 with MOVE and stabbed the enemy in the eyes and she cringed and buried her head into my shoulder haha Wuss

Booked tickets for the Saturday. Would have liked to have gone on a quieter day, but it's the only one I can make. Hopefully will get a glimpse of WiiU and Xbox Smartglass.

See you there!

More games, including Halo 4 & Dishonored:

http://www.eurogamer.net/expo/whats-on

More dev sessions:

http://www.eurogamer.net/expo/whats-...loper-sessions

Thursday - Hideo Kojima (MGS), 343 Industries (Halo 4)

Friday - Criterion Games (Need for Speed: Most Wanted)

Saturday - Relic Entertainment (Company of Heroes 2), Codemasters (GRID 2)

Sunday - Lorne Lanning (Abe's Oddysee HD)

After considering skipping it & taking the hit on the ticket, I'm swinging back towards going now. I just wish that Kojima & 343 were on Saturday instead of Thursday!

A question for somebody that's been before please....

Does anybody know, once you are in there, is it possible to easily leave for a short while and then get back in again?

Yeah, you get a wristband for the day, so you can check in during the morning rush, leave, grab something to eat, chill out somewhere, and stroll back in once the initial entry queue has died down (around 1pm ish going from previous years).

Pretty cool sight later in the day to see people dressed up as video game characters just chilling out on the Earls Courts Steps or sitting on the tanks which we had last year.

It's been announced that Nintendo's Wii U showcase tour will kick off at Eurogamer.

I have to say I'm pleased to hear it. I've never been so undecided over a console launch before.
