You have the media promoting these people as handsome and beautiful, people for some reason then feel obliged to accept what is being said as the truth. Fame, money and power are attractive, they make the most ugly person more attractive to some. For me most of the A-List we have at the moment are at best average looking.

Clemence Poesy. It's certainly not a status thing (a french thing yes) if she walked past me in the street I'd still find her stunning. Probably more so actually since I'd be comparing her to the ordinary woman on the street.
