Futurama and Glee on Pick TV

I've noticed The Glee Project and Futurama are currently being shown on Pick TV but do they have any plans to air season 3 of Glee or the newer episodes of Futurama or the DVD films?

Also, would they be showing Spartacus - Gods of the Arena after Blood and Sand?

Futurama is only showing the early series, and most likely wont air the Comedy Central episodes, so nothing amazing.

As for The Glee Project, that isnt Glee, but its a good advert for Glee on Sky.

Never fails to amaze me how people think that Pick TV is giving away Sky TV for free.

I don't think shows like Glee have much of a repeat value, so it wouldn't be a bad idea for Sky to stick the previous series on Pick TV over the summer to get some ratings/advertising revenue, and as a way of promoting the forthcoming series on their subscription channels.

I'm also surprised they haven't put stuff like LOST on Pick TV by now, to complete the series for the viewers who stopped watching it when it finished on C4. Again, I can't see them getting many viewers for it if they repeat it on Sky 1 or 2, so they may as well show it for free and pick up some revenue from adverts. Suppose both of these scenarios depend on whether they have the rights to show them free though.

Sky don't give much of a toss really about Pick TV - it's basically only on Freeview to act as a placeholder so that Sky don't lose the channel. Remember, they wanted to introduce a new pay mechanism on Freeview (before all the NotW phonehacking stuff) and Pick TV would go to make room for that.

Exactly. If Sky gave a toss about it, it would still be called Sky3 (i.e. with "Sky" still part of the branding).

Pick TV has improved a lot over the last month with several new series added to the line up like Modern Family, The Middle and Spartacus: Blood and Sand. It has become more like Sky3 used to be, with delayed repeats of popular Sky1 programmes rather than a loop of Airport and Road Wars.

I must agree that Pick TV has become worth watching.

Shame that- The Middle, Modern Family and Voyager are all finishing over the next few days.

But we still have Stargate Universe and Spartacus.

And there has been talk of other 'new' shows later in July (unconfirmed as to what will be shown from what I am able to gleen)

If SKY made Pick TV worth watching for a general viewing audience then they could really improve their position. After all they could get subscribers by showing them what they have on pay channels and proving it isn't all just rubbish. And they could make the rest of us who aren't able to afford it feel like we're not seen as just a waste of time. After all it must cost a heck of a lot to keep the channel open and to make it pay you need viewer numbers up so that advertisers will pay for air time and maybe even sponsor shows.
