What kind of judge is she going to be if she can't criticise anyone? I think Leona needs to man up and just say what she sees and hears.

Cancelling the day before would have totally screwed them over so obviously her management would have said she had to do it. I doubt she was being 100% serious though to be honest.

I totally her her. Nor everyone can be a judge, and some people are quite sensitive and don't want to say NO and crash someone's dream. Judging is not for everyone

I agree, it's not something that suits everyone. Modest calling the shots I see from that article. I wonder if their artists get any say in what they do at all sometimes

She's just sharing an understandable attack of last minute nerves which any honest person in her position would probably have when facing an unfamiliar challenge. And her manager who has known her for years probably just did what any manager would do in the circumstances. I expect she was also reassured that she'd be wonderful.
I can understand why she might be concerned. Knowing the X Factor, she probably felt her style wasn't what they wanted: Quote:
It's news because everything remotely controversial about the X Factor is news. And then people take a snippet and create all sorts of theories from it.

Excellent bit of spin by journalists. All Leona meant was that she got nerves at the last minute about judging others. Completely understandable, she's never done anything like that before. I don't think she was forced into the job.

Not if simon says so. Why do you think Alex was drafted in whilst minding her business? It's a big boost having leona there though...her words will mean a lot.

I'm sure Leona was joking. Leona is a professional, she'd never ring up the night before and cancel, knowing it would leave them with no one. She was probably just mentioning her last minute nerves because she wants to stress that she doesn't like criticising people.

Leona is such a lovely girl and I think she feels awful giving out criticisms to hopefuls - I don't think it's in her nature to do so. I would loved to have her as a permanent judge
