I would say that Ted Hankey along with King is the biggest name missing. He is certainly a bigger name than alot of those qualifiers.

Yeah forgot about Ted tbh

I spose I meant for those who just watch the big TV tournaments, King would be the biggest name missing, as they may not be expecting to see Hankey

Plus those of us who follow it more closely probably didn't anticipate Ted qualifying for Blackpool in his first year anyway

Don't Forget Ted would be a great title for a sit-com

Jelle Klaasen is another big name missing in as much as he's a former world champion and Premier League player, mind I think he missed the Matchplay last year?

Didn't appreciate Darren Webster was in the frame I have to be honest, thought his career was shot having peaked with a WC QF about five years ago.

Certainly no easy games in the PDC these days is there, hell of a lot of dangerous floaters in that current qualifiers list!

Mervs only £400 quid off making it so still in with a good chance. Ted is £2,800 away so needs to make a final in the next 4 really to have any hope.

When we're talking about big names missing Darth Maple isn't in either.

It's the second of the European tour championships. I'm guessing you counted the first tso. It's like darts version of snookers PTC events. I looked around earlier but couldn't get it online anywhere

Chissy will be at least 15th seed, I would put money on him winning the £1k more than VdV over the next three events. In fact he probbaly will end up 13th or 14th the way he is going, quite tight in the main OoM between 13-17

I'd like to see young James Hubbard make the cut for Blackpool, be great experience for him. Very impressed with what I've seen if him on TV at the Grand Slam and particularly the World Youth Final, where at times he outshone one or two of the PL big boys in the main event...

Been a while since I've seen the top 16 and must admit that I'm struck by Newton's impressive rise, RvB and Webster holding respectable positions despite poor major results in the last year, and Walsh coming out of his impressive run to lie below the top 10.

The big one for me, though, is Paul Nicholson slumping to 14th; he's suffered a dreadful slump this year and you hope he can refocus himself solely onto the game and get rid of the other distractions or else he may just become another name on the list of PDC players who failed to fulfil their potential.

I wouldn't consider Webby a flop in last years majors to be fair....he reached the semis of the UK and QF at the Matchplay, Grand Slam and the Grand Prix....that's good going....only the Worlds did he bomb in....

Edit: oh hang on...in the last year...s'pose he did fail in this years UK....albeit to the eventual winner.....on the whole though he's done well I'd still say
