I found it to be chaotic and very unforgiving lol.

It's a great game so long as you get used to that handling. It's a bit weird and hard to master but the game can flow really well at times, other's not so great, I think it depends on the track layout. It's just not consistent, you'll have a really good race one moment and a frustrating one the next, at least that's my experience with it.

It went quite cheap quickly in the supermarkets (£25 in morrisons after being out for just 3/4 weeks) so snapped it up. A good racing game, like others have said it's hard and unforgiving, however stick with it and you will like it.
Problems though... No tutorial so to speak - check youtube vids for help with drifting if need be. It is inconsistent (like said above) - 1 race will be easy, next really hard. Online - er...there is none...well, there is...it's just that the game seem glitched and it won't find anyone to race against (they're meant to be patching it, might already have done so as I haven't played it in a few weeks due to other games). No side view when racing - as in you can only look behind and not rotate the camera around, not a big thing, but would have been nice to do so as the city and visuals are spot on. It's quite an addictive game and better than a lot of the other recent ridge racers, but there are bugs. |

I like unbounded
Sometimes it's better to change the format of a game series and this one works... Some people just don't like change I think it's really good other than the handling but once u stick with it and know the tracks u get used to it |

In honesty I would much prefer a true Ridge Racer game but Namco seem unable to take Ridge to the next level where it needs to be.

To be honest how far can you actually take the series there's so much competition out there that it's difficult to compete with the Burnouts and Need for Speeds. I really enjoyed both games as an alternative to the others.

They really ruined the game doing Paradise it was the worst sequel ever made. Should of made it like Revenge. Why do companies always have to go through the GTA route.

Had a look town toady and see a CEX stroe has opened up. How convenient!
Asides from shop smelling like stale urine the shelves were packed to brim with 360 games. Managed to pick up Ridge Racer 6 for under £5 in VGC too, pretty good considering it's age. Not played it in a couple of years so it'll be nice to refresh myself and compare it to Unbounded, just for laughs.

CEX stores are always worth a look, usually find a few bargains lying around.

They even had a copy of Tales of Vesperia in seemingly great condition but it was marked up for £40. Not too bad considering what it can go for.
I think this new CEX is gonna kill out our local Gamestation and Game stores, my town is not big enough to have all these stores competing (including HMV) all within a 100 yeards or so of each other and since Game/Gamestation make most of their profit in preowned software it could spell trouble. It was very busy in CEX. |

Got hooked on the demo round a mates on saturday, couldn't help thinking that the gameplay may become tedious over time, is this the case with those of you that have played the full game?

Played the demo on the PS3, it was fun for 5 minutes then I thought... what am I doing! Buy it really really cheap, they churn out these nitro-fuelled chase and destroy racers like they're on a production line.

Nice one, yep. They've got a lot of stuff in there, prices not exactly brilliant, but ok. I think they must have low trade in standards as some of the handhelds they had in the window were scratched to hell, they had a kinect there too that looked like it had been used as a sanding block.

Bought this game new, wish I hadn't. If you love Ridge Racer and "classic" Burnout you'll hate this.

I played it at a friends & thought it was the worst, most boring driving game I'd ever played.
I agree with what these guys say about it: http://youtu.be/9birWxJYrKk?t=1m57s |
