An interesting selection of Anti-Sky posts you've quoted there.

Just to state the obvious...my post (which was quoted) wasn't anti anything. It was just stating a fact - nothing more, nothing less

Since the new Virgin Magazine came out it says on the Channel List page that you CAN add channels "a la carte" to your existing package
if you are not on Size XL TV for an extra monthly fee, so if you added 10 channels from Sizes L TV and XL TV
I do not think it would be worth your while as it would be a huge extra monthly cost,
unless the Size L TV or Size XL TV packs cost a lot more than you adding the channels you want separately

For details look at any of the new Virgin Magazines on Page 67 at the back and look at the top of the page when turned across,
so you are reading across the page rather than down the page, it is written in small black letters

When I get to a Computer with a Scanner I will Scan it for you
Will you get around to scanning this page saying that Virgin offer a la carte channels Joshua?

Genuinely interested...and I just had a look on Virgin Media's website and couldn't find any reference to it whatsoever. Even in the "build a package" bit.

I will be scanning it soon in July, as I am not near any computer with a Scanner attached to it, it will be a pleasure Scanning it for all to see

The only reference have to build your own channels is on Page 67 of the Virgin Magazine dated March 2012 and another Virgin Magazine one dated May 2012

Can you get a copy of the Virgin Magazine from a local Virgin shop, can you visit a local Virgin shop?

I have already quoted what it says on that page even with a Spelling Mistake and then I corrected it

I shall try and get to a local Virgin shop and see if I can find it.

I know you quoted it, but your quote doesn't say that you can actually add channels individually. It says you can add channels....which of course you can, no mention of a la carte style channel bundling.

Just surprising that, a) they aren't promoting it particularly, and b) if I go to the Virgin Media site and try to order a TV package (went for L) then it is the same as it always was for additional channels....no mention of this individual ordering thing.

IIRC from the thread on these forums there was also a basic administration charge for the account so it wasn't merely a matter of £5 or £6 for aa couple of channels also they did not provide the receivers or subsidised installation. Also if I read Joshua's post correctly with VM it is a matter os adding a la carte channels to a basic package.

Real Digital initially were espousing an a la carte channel selection system but soon change this to packages and yet have still to launch so they almost certainly spotted the difficulties and viability of running such a system.

No need to. The PDF channel guide (complete with offending small print) is available at www.virginmedia.com/help/channelguide

It's badly worded but clearly talking about the ESPN channels which are included with XL and available as an add-on with lower tiers.
