They could send a courier to collect the item. But is it really worth the effort and cost to do so for 2000 of them?

If they plan to recall them then I'd have thought there'd be something in the box or in the first email.
I suspect you're right but that's not the news I want to hear as I was not selected for the trial.

Hi guys, tech advice reqd please

I received the box for trial this morning after the wife applied, and I am in the process of trying to get it working.

As an existing sky+ user, i currently have no use for the aerial on the roof, and accordingly did nothing when the digital changeover happened.

I read this on the YouView site:

Will I need a new TV or an upgraded aerial?

If you can already get digital TV through an aerial, you shouldn’t have any problem getting YouView. If your TV doesn’t get digital, or you need aerial signal boosters to get a digital signal, you’re going to have to upgrade for the digital switchover anyway.

So, I am guessing that I can't just plug this into an aerial socket and crack on. What do I need to do or get to have this thing up and running please?

Thanks in advance

Chris

If your existing aerial worked in the analogue days (before digital switchover), it will work now. No need for a new aerial. Just try it and see.

Chris.

At £299 each that would make £598,000 so yes it would be worth sending couriers etc. Possibly they might offer them to the trialists at a reduced price.

Nope no call here. Assume it was for a focus group session? I did one for Netflix recently which was enjoyable.

I got my email today and the box is being delivered Saturday.

Can anyone tell me whether the boxes have wi-fi or need wired access to the router?

No wi-fi, but a pair of homeplugs should be supplied to allow wired access.

Sorry if this is a silly question but has Humax designed the software for their box?

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section. I am thinking of buying the Google, Sony NSZ-GS7.
Would I be able to have all the TV catch up service, BBC Iplayer, ITV IPlayer, 40D and 5 On Demand by the Chrome browser? If so will these be the full apps?

Yes wrong thread. Neither Google or Sony have anything to do with youview.
