That's not true. Most policies sold by the multiples are like for like not depreciated value. It only becomes a problem if the failed product had a specific feature which isn't available any longer.

Just to update the thread - I spoke to the engineer at the Sony Centre - the TV showed 2 error codes apparently but he said it had been running continuously on the bench since I took it in without a problem.
I took it back to my in-laws yesterday, set it up, confirmed it was working then left. So far the phone hasn't rang............. |
