Lady Gaga's Tweet to Adele about her pregnancy

http://twitter.com/ladygaga/status/218933153283309568

Anyone hear the sigh of relief emitted by popstars worldwide when Adele announced her pregnancy? ‪#ThatsTheTruthTea‬ Congratulations gorgeous!

Is Lady Gaga admitting that she was upset 21 completely stole Born This Way's thunder last year?

No

She's probably joking that Adele has dominated pop music to such an extent that this pregnancy is the only chance other acts will get.

It's called "humour"

Yes!

When adele performed at the grammy's and everybody was giving her a standing ovation Gaga was the only one not doing it - she actually only stood up and clapped when the camera was doing a sweap on the guests! It was just so rude!

Didn't she say she was taking a '5 year break' from music anyway?

I think its a pretty flattering tweet to Adele and yes humour. As in Adele you are amazing & now you're pregnant we might get more of a look in, but in a nice way. That's how I interpret it

Exactly.

How anyone can try and turn this into something sour is beyond me.

I took it that way as well....a nice nod to Adele basically saying she was talented and some others might get a lookin at awards etc. I didnt think it was a nasty tweet, quite the opposite.

Also unlike DS twitter you have to limit your comments to 140 characters...so a short and to the point tweet.

It's a joke.

Adele said she was having a ciggy outside the back of the VMAs and they said what a load of tosh the night had been so far

Adele fans are totally humourless when it comes to their idol, and they will interpret ANYTHING that isn't OMG ADELE HAS BROKEN ANOTHER RECORD/WON AN AWARD as criticisim. Her fanbase on DS is laughable - I got such a roasting just for daring to suggest I liked some songs on 21 but not others.

Good for Lady Gaga .. It's called a joke... People take every comment or word so literal these days we appear to of lost our sense of humour...

Tell me about it. So many people on DS seem to have no understanding of what hyperbole is, either. I learned the hard way not to use the word "hate" in ANY context on these forums, and one of my most recent posts got someone replying who obviously took everything they read literally. It drives me round the bend and is one of the negative things about communicating via the written word.

Anyway, congratulations to Adele. I hope the media will respect her wishes for privacy.

How can anyone even remotely find that malicious, or anything other than a light hearted joke, with a congratulations.

Quite a funny one too.

I think that's how society has gone sadly.. A total over reaction to a sweet jokey tweet.... Why do people feel they need to shout up for people they feel will be upset by someone else's comment. If Adele is offended I'm sure she will speak up.

I'm not an Adele fan, but you shouldn't tar them all with the same brush. After all, there are hundreds of millions of them

Indeed. It's her wishing congratulations and passing on a very big compliment. Nothing more.
