Yep, same here. Everytime her drooning voice comes on I have to switch off, it goes right through me! Adele is just an ok singer with middle of the road songs.

Immediate switch-off for me. She's talented, but it's overkill.

Her voice goes right through me. Boring voice, boring songs.

I was completely sick of hearing her at the beginning of last year when 21 was released. If I never hear Rolling In The Deep or Someone Like You again, it'll be too soon.

I can't deny she is very talented, but her songs do absolutely nothing for me, and I don't really understand how she has sold so many singles, albums and won so many awards.

There's good news for people like us though - she is taking a break from music and is pregnant, so hopefully all this overload will gradually die down

I agree with what you've said.

Whenever I have seen her interviewed I always think she comes across really well but her music isn't really (in my opinion) as brilliant as its made out to be.

Seeing the clip of her at the Grammy's and the response she got after, its as if the queen of the world was in the building

Its too much now, people are going to get very bored.

I think ever since Amy Winehouse started out there has been an endless conveyor belt of Brit School-style female singers and I cannot fathom what has set Adele apart in terms of the level of her success.

Sure, she can sing, which is almost a novelty in an age of Cheryl Cole-style mime acts, but her voice is brash (IMO) and I just don't see the appeal. Her songs are dreary, angsty and forgettable. Every single track sounds the same. Rolling In The Deep is such an irritating song.

Same here. I like a few of her songs and I acknowledge that she's talented, but the hype is crazy and I don't get it.

This.

She's ok and her songs are ok but she's just a bit 'so what' for me.

I've heard very little in the way of Adele for ages now. I don't hear her on the radio much anymore, nor in shops etc when I'm shopping. She's not been on the telly for a while, and now she's pregnant and it looks like she'll be taking some time out.

So OP, looks like you can stop whinging

I wouldn't mind her so much if my neighbour didn't play her stuff really loud every time she (the neighbour) has an argument with her boyfriend.

I wouldn't know, since I only listen to talk radio. All my music comes from my down loads and Spotify.

Same for me. For a singer to have such "emotionally powerful" songs, they leave me cold.

Fair point, but since 2011 it has been all Adele all the time.

I also think people should be allowed to have a little grumble about something without being called a whinger, but maybe that's because I'm not biased in any way.

It's the British media doing their usual trick of over hyping anyone British who's cracked America, or at least gets a bit of attention over there, to the point where everybody is sick to death of them.

This is why I hardly listen to radio nowadays.

To the OP

Get over it, continue turning off the Radio and move on with your life.

Sincerely,
Charles.

Thought that was only me. She comes across as a bit common and crude(with her language) to me. I guess people find that 'refreshing', because at least it isn't fake.

There is nothing special about her at all, its just hysteria and radio stations just jumping on the bandwagon playing her 2 songs to death.

On all accounts she is having a baby now so we hopefully will see her out of the spotlight for many years to come.

..Well I know the Showbiz section has a tendency to cater to the complete and utter feckless retards but I thought I may help some people to see some perspective if I can

I think she is bloody brilliant - as a singer/performer/songwriter. Truly exceptionally talented.

BUT I hate her swearing and I hate the adulation.
