Just to say, I've only recently started listening to Marina and I'm loving this album! I think it's brilliant! I bought it a few days ago and have had it spinning most of the time since then I see posters of the album everywhere on the tube so hoping a lot of other people got interested (like me) and can see how great this album is!

More people seem to be discovering her which is good but her album's sales aren't great.
Although I was a fan I didn't follow chart positions/sales of TFJ. How is this campaign comparing to her debut? Is EH doing better or worse?

I'm not too worried about album sales because I think this will sell strongly but just over a very long period of time. The album is climbing again, she's still on tour, T4 on the Beach is this weekend and Power & Control's release is coming up, which is sure to be A-listed by Radio 1. If anything, we'll start to see sales pick up again over the next month or so. The album has been reduced to £5.99 and the deluxe at £7.99 on iTunes so this will only help.

The Family Jewels had 4 single releases, whereas Electra Heart is only about to release its second. The Family Jewels fell out the top 40 quick but when I Am Not A Robot came out, the song experienced a surge in sales and re-entered the top 40. So we'll have to see what Power & Control does for Electra Heart first before we can compare them properly. Power & Control is released on the 22nd of July, Marina's tour of the U.S. finishes on the 21st, so I imagine she'll be back here promoting the single all week during release week. Basically, we'll have to wait and see but I'm feeling positive now the release date for Power & Control has been pushed back a few weeks so Radio 1 can really start to back it.

Overall, I don't think there's anything to worry about

I think it's definitely gonna be the 2nd US single from Electra Heart but I think Lies will be the 3rd one here in the UK.

UPDATE: Power and Control release has been pushed back to 22nd July.

I think it is a good move, not enough airplay of the song. I hope they do lots of radio and TV promo because IMO the song isn't as catchy as 'Primadonna' but it could still go far!

I do hope it at least becomes platinum! Maybe a re-release with HTBAH could help out with that, the album seems to be doing well on the Irish charts, do we have estimated Irish sales figures?

Yeah, it was for the best. Radio 1 have playlisted it now and Marina is back in the UK the day before release so she'll be around to promote the song on tv and radio.

She's doing really well on Ireland with Primadonna going Platinum! No word on actual sales for the album but I think this will go atleast Platinum in Ireland. As for the UK, sales will pick up again like I mentioned before. I don't know if I'm keen on a re-release though as I still want Lies to be the 3rd single and I'm not sure how'd she would fair in the busy fourth quarter. If she could land an X-Factor slot, then maybe.

US tv promo is shaping up now, she's performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on the 9th July.

That's interesting, I'll take it with a pinch of salt but I don't think it's out of the question. I'd rather they put out Lies first as I think it'll make a great single and it really needs to be released at some point. Maybe they'll just put it out there as a stand alone single and see how it does. Hmm.

I think it was good they didn't add 'How To Be A Heartbreaker' on our version of the album as it may get overplayed and if she plans to release it to make her an international artist she should play her cards right, like they have.

Apparently Primadonna is sitting pretty at #51 on the US pop radio airplay charts (should break top 50 any day now), and its in the top 500 on iTunes. Hopefully when she starts doing promo in the States it will fly up both charts.

I never expected Primadonna to get to the top 50 so quickly. Part of me never thought it would get to the top 100. Maybe the US will embrace her more than the UK has. Primadonna is already top 5 in New Zealand, probably top 20 in Australia, with the potential of going higher. And Ireland really embraced Marina this time around. I really get the feeling that things are starting to pick up for Marina globally!

I agree, for the first time it seems like she's really starting to build a fanbase worldwide! Something I never thought would happen. She just needs to keep hammering away and soon enough she'll reap the rewards. I think/hope How To Be A Heartbreaker could be the breakthrough hit worldwide for her. Either way, I'm very proud of her.

Yeah, don't be surprised if the album has lacklustre sales, Primadonna isn't even a hit yet. She's got nothing to sell this album other then abit of hype. However, if Primadonna catches on and How To Be A Heartbreaker continues the success, I think this album will sell slowly but have decent overall sales over time. Lies could be a big hit too. Also, the pro's about getting US hit singles is that she'll catch on worldwide too and back here, most importantly.

I doubt she'll go Gold with this album Stateside (500,000), though willing to be proven wrong but if she can do 300,000 overall, I'd say that's a massive achievement.
