The Amazing Race Australia 2 Prediction Game - Week 5 Results & Predict Week 6!

Hello everyone! This is the results thread for Week 5 and prediction thread for Week 6! Last week, I somehow managed to climb to the top of the pack, while at the bottom, we bode farewell to Sad_BB_Addict, the third player to be eliminated from the game. Here’s a reminder of everyone’s positions from Week 4!

Week 4 table
1. Kyle123 – 18 Points

2. Mazey – 18 Points
3. Mdtm – 20 Points
4. Javjamoll84 – 24 Points
5. Scott14 – 24 Points
6. Avoca – 26 Points
7. Phill363 – 28 Points
8. Yobaba** - 30 Points
9. Sad_BB_Addict – 30 Points (eliminated)

Enclosed are the results from Episode 5! Don’t look if you don’t want to know!
Spoiler

So anyway, here are the results! This week, we collectively performed much better than in recent weeks. One of us posted the best prediction of the season by a clear mile, someone managed to guess four team’s positions correctly but still placed outside of the top three, and someone else dropped to a perilous position at the bottom of the leaderboard…

Coming in first for the week is….

Avoca!!! With the season’s best prediction by far, Avoca completes a dramatic comeback from the non-elimination first leg to top the leaderboard for the first time, the fifth player to do so in five weeks. Avoca scored just 6 points in a highly impressive prediction, halving the score of second place! Speaking of second place, the runner up for the week is…

Kyle123!!! Despite doubling Avoca’s score with 12 points, I followed up my surprise win last week with a respectable second place this week. I’m genuinely surprised at how I’ve managed to comeback from the brink at the start of the season, but this season is ridiculously tough to call, so I’m well aware of the risk at crashing out at any moment.

Finishing behind the top two, we had a dramatic four way tie from the remaining six players… Snatching third place is…

Mazey. Mazey remains ever solid on the leaderboard, finishing in the top three for an impressive fourth time in just five weeks. Mazey remains one of the top contenders of the week, finishing on a strong score of 14. Behind Mazey in fourth place is….

Mdtm! By finishing in fourth place this week, Mdtm continues to be a strong performer on the leaderboard despite a one place drop – last weeks 1,2,3 became this weeks 2,3,4! In fifth place for the week is…

Phill363!!! Despite only moving up two places, Phil makes a big improvement on last week, halving his score to 14 from last weeks 28. If anyone paid enough attention to last weeks table, they would know who finished sixth this week…

It’s Yobaba!!! After narrowly scraping through last week, Yobaba is another player to make a significant improvement on last week. The sixth place is perhaps typical of Yobaba’s self-confessed mid-table style of play, but having the same score as third place overall just goes to prove how important it is in this game to try to stay near the top of the pack for as long as possible! Anyway, Yobaba safely through to the next week!

After that two way tie, we’re down to just two players. Recent TAR20 game winner Scott14 and Javjamoll84, who won a leg just two weeks ago…

Finishing in seventh place is…

Scott14!!! Scott is safe in the game once again, finishing on 18 points, slightly more than the tied group, but remains in the game. Javjamoll84 therefore becomes the first leg winner to drop to the bottom of the leaderboard.

However…. In perhaps the least surprising turn of event ever, Javjamoll is given a reprieve by the non-elimination leg! I like the non-elimination legs in this game, because it’s always more fun when there are more players in the game. Good luck to Javjamoll in your attempts to scramble out of last place, and good luck to everyone else in the next round too!

Predictions to be sent before Monday again please! Oh, and sorry that the results have been a bit delayed this week – I wasn’t originally going to post a full thread because of the non-elimination, but I had some time to kill due to Wimbledon’s roof closing!

Yay!! I'm amazed that I came first as I'm finding this series so hard to predict. Teams that I think will do well (the cops for instance) keep ending up in the middle or the end of the pack and it's always so tempting to put the teams I don't like at the bottom

Week 6:

1. Paul and Steve
2. Michelle and Jo
3. Shane and Andrew
4. Lucy and Emilia
5. Joseph and Grace
6. Sticky and Sam
7. James and Sarah
8. Tarryn and Ross

The preview suggests one of the twins gets hurt quite seriously, I am not sure what to make of it. TAR US does not make allowances for injuries or sickness.

In all fairness, you need to know Ross and Tarryn came in last in Ep5, they have to come in first or take a 30 minute penalty this week. Ross may come back fighting this week but he was really defeated and down at the end of the show.

The preview at the end of the show showed one of the challenges seemed to be soaping/massaging each other in a bath-house, it was not clear if this was something they had to do or if there was an alternative.

Sorry if this just makes it worse!

Haha, well its too late now to do anything about it but I'll stick to my preferred list.

Just about to watch both episodes now. But very intriguing to see why... And the police accident thing!
